Boi Du Portugal.
Thread: 'Power' fragrances
what are some good fragrances that exude seriousness, power and professionalism - without being boring?
Basically, what is good office wear for someone who works as, say, a lawyer?
Similarly, what would you wear if you were going to have dinner with the president?
My first suggestion would be Terre d'Hermes or Grey Vetiver, perhaps even Encre Noir for day wear. Green Irish Tweed is another classic - but a bit too classic for my liking.
For powerful evening wear, Dior Homme might work.
Michael Kors for men.
+1 Bois du Portugal
Antaeus by Chanel
Bel Ami by Hermes
Heritage by Guerlain
New York by Parfums de Nicolai
Giorgio Beverly Hills for Men
Creed "Vintage' Tabarome

Epic Man if you want to overthrow the president lol
+2 Bois du Portugal
Also, among so many great names mentioned,
Chanel pour Monsieur (this one not as much as a powerhouse, but still symbolizing unaffected, effortless gentlemanly elegance)
L'Instant de Guerlain Pour Homme Extreme
If I were having dinner with the President, I'd probably wear something like Gendarme or Geir, as I'd want something clean that wouldn't interfere with what I'm sure would be amazing food and wine. I hate when people wear too much at dinner or wine tasting events, as it totally spoils the aromas.
Gotta be Jicky....
Bois du Portugal.. It is a masterpiece and "give power" to any person over 25 years old.. Its completeness and complexity do it no boring!
Sycomore or Encre Noir in hot weather, Derby in cooler weather. Knize Ten for additional power. Bandit, Rien, or Patchouli 24 for confrontational situations (like negotiations or trials).
Of course, you can follow the opposite strategy, something floral and more sedate (Troisieme homme, Anais Anais, 1876, Parfums de Rosine), and then go for the jugular when the opponent least expectis it.
Richard James (Savile Row) = CEO of the world!
In addition to some of the great suggestions above, I'll add Tabarome Millesime and Aramis.
+1 on 'vintage' Tabarome esp if you are >40 yrs.
A light application of Grey Flannel for a more affordable alternative.
Dior Homme unfortunately for me doesn't whisper 'power' or 'seriousness'...
For me it would have to be Jicky.
Bois du Portugal (as many have mentioned)

"...seriousness, power and professionalism - without being boring?"
Iris Bleu Gris
Patou pour Homme
Cuir Pleine Fleur
Papyrus de Ciane
Caron pour un Homme
shocked no one has mentioned it....since to me the fragrance was made by an exclusive suit company for a man to wear with a three piece suit.....literally class in a bottle.
Interesting you mentioned TdH. I find I'm taken more seriously when I wear TdH.
