    Default 'Power' fragrances

    Hello basenoters,

what are some good fragrances that exude seriousness, power and professionalism - without being boring?

Basically, what is good office wear for someone who works as, say, a lawyer?

Similarly, what would you wear if you were going to have dinner with the president?

My first suggestion would be Terre d'Hermes or Grey Vetiver, perhaps even Encre Noir for day wear. Green Irish Tweed is another classic - but a bit too classic for my liking.

For powerful evening wear, Dior Homme might work.

+1 to that. I'll add Chanel Égoïste.

If I were having dinner with the President, I'd probably wear something like Gendarme or Geir, as I'd want something clean that wouldn't interfere with what I'm sure would be amazing food and wine. I hate when people wear too much at dinner or wine tasting events, as it totally spoils the aromas.

Bois du Portugal.. It is a masterpiece and "give power" to any person over 25 years old.. Its completeness and complexity do it no boring!

Sycomore or Encre Noir in hot weather, Derby in cooler weather. Knize Ten for additional power. Bandit, Rien, or Patchouli 24 for confrontational situations (like negotiations or trials).

Of course, you can follow the opposite strategy, something floral and more sedate (Troisieme homme, Anais Anais, 1876, Parfums de Rosine), and then go for the jugular when the opponent least expectis it.

+1 on 'vintage' Tabarome esp if you are >40 yrs.

A light application of Grey Flannel for a more affordable alternative.

Dior Homme unfortunately for me doesn't whisper 'power' or 'seriousness'...
