    Default My eternal love affair

with Polo. (also known as polo classic or polo green).

I know it was overused, loved, demonized and many other polarized feelings yet this is one of the most amazing fragrances. I wore it with passion during the 80īs and regularly during the 90īs. In the past ten years I kept reaching to it like an alcoholic breaking his sobriety just for one last smell, just one, but it is never only one.

I wont enter in the discussion if Polo is good, bad or dated because to me is simply a master piece. It does not have the pedigree of other houses nor the sophistication but it simply smells marvelous and masculine. Nowadays I do not wear it very often but when I do I quickly remember why is that I like it so much and I truly enjoy the few hours journey that Polo takes. If it were a Fragrance Hall of Fame (maybe there is one) Polo should be there by its own deserve right.I have many fragrances from different houses, prices and characteristics but Polo is one of my favorites without any doubts (regardless all the stereotypes). I guess this is a due tribute to what in my humble opinion is a product of pure genius.

It's an ugly and intriguing piece of art I appreciate but don't want on my skin. Like, ever.

    So, option one and three.

Though a slight bit heavy and linear to my nose, the original Polo is, to me, still a quite non-generic, persistent and elegant fragrance, since I associate it with a certain sense of style

I once owned a mini of this and was fond of it when I did (yes, I emptied it). I think it is superior to the other offerings of this house as well.

I would likely wear it again, but infrequently.

This smells amazing on my husband. I hope it never changes. It is a sensuous green frag with a most subtle patchouli drydown.

I prefer Modern Reserve. While Polo had its place when I first wore cologne in the 80s, it didn't stand the test of time for me and the top notes are overwhelming for me.

A nice tribute. House of Ralph Laurent has a very distinct tradition style and imagery to it. I feel that Polo is one of the few if any fragrances that truly captures the style and essence of label and what it stands for.

The classic Polo was the reason I ever got into fragrances in the first place. Period.

I agree totally with Basteri. Polo never smells dated. It's the epitome of what a classic scent is. Polo is awesome.

I think Polo has aged well and resisted the pass of time nicely. When I wear it I still get positive and nice comments about it.
