    Talking Smaller Perfume Houses

I know I have read at least one post in recent history regarding smaller perfume houses, but for the life of me I can't seem to find anything no matter what search terms I use...

I'm certainly interested in the more popular and frequently mentioned fragrances I read about here, but I also want to give some of the lesser-known or local houses a shot as well.

Does anyone have a smaller or locally known fragrance house that has a scent that just WOW's them?
If you're willing to share your "secret source", I'd love to hear about them. Hopefully they have a web site or ordering via phone....

Any thoughts or guidance would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Sonoma Scent Studio. Yeah, I'm beginning to sound like a broken record now.

I second that motion. Winter Woods is still wafting around me as we speak.

Thirding Sonoma. Good pricing for a niche house; high quality fragrances.

I'm also a fan of some from the Neil Morris and Ava Luxe lines, both of which contain some of my all-time favorites.

Another +1 for Sonoma, but also for Liz Zorn.

Her Tobacco and Tulle extrait is sublime! Worth the price, and I am happy she sells in the 4 ml size, too. Tuberose, a castoreum-like animalic note (hyraceum) that is cruelty-free, touched with spice.

    Ineke's scents are beautiful!

The best way to sample her marvelous scents is to order the wonderfully presented sample set for $25 USD. The $25 can be used toward a purchase (only on her site) of a full bottle. I am wearing, as a matter of fact, her Field Notes from Paris today.

30 Roses, thank you so much for the link. It actually isn't the thread I had in mind(IIRC, it was a couple of months ago I read it.)but really addresses the question I had much better. So, thank you again. I somehow missed reading it. I'd like to hope I would have recalled something I had read so recently. Anyway, much thanks!
Thank you to everyone for your input and your patience regarding what seems to be a very recent topic(again I had no idea how recent). Your suggestions are invaluable and I really appreciate your time in responding. A tip of the hat to you all!

I have tried quite a few of Sonoma Scent Studio's samples and purchased a small bottle of Winter Woods. I am now convinced that this house is pretty terrific.

Not only is Laurie's customer service awesome, but EVERY SINGLE SCENT I have sampled makes me want to buy a full bottle. EVERY ONE. When is the last time a house has caused you to feel that way? The prices are also affordable with 17ml and 34ml bottles.

I really love that this house gets the positive feedback that it does here on Basenotes! Sonoma Scent Studio create 2 of my favourite scents ever with Wood Violet and Sienna Musk. The customer service is immense and you can sense a great passion in her work. Recommend SSS in every single way!
