Default Lady Gaga debut fragrance with Coty (Spring 2012)

What do you think it will smell like?

boring, flat, cheap, and commercial as it's sole reason for existence.

i wish it would be outrageous and daring and exciting, like i wish her music would be. but it never is.

I'll admit that I'm not fan of LG, however I give her a lot of credit for working so hard to distinguish herself as a performer. She seems just wierd enough that her fragrance might actually be interesting.

i find her outfits amusing. but the way she present herself is very different from what she sells (her music). coming from this point of view, i haven't got high hopes for this one. add to that, that this perfume is going to be done by coty; once the greatest of all, but now one of the worst companies out there.

I expect it will reek of plagiarism.

LG, whilst revered as an apostle of fashion modernity, has in fact lifted her inspiration from other recording artists, in both her appearance and in her music (search YouTube for the video which exposes her plagiarism of Mylene Farmer's song Libertine, for the song Born This Way).

I imagine her scent will pretty much follow the same trajectory.

I find Lady Gaga a good amount of talent, but she knows she needs to sell this in the sensationalism and theatricality called for in the industry.

Any scent she would front would be geared toward the mass market.

ooooh, I hate to think what it might smell like. I agree that it will most likely be marketed for the masses..

Here's an example of the many reports on Google which said the same thing, essentially (as of January):

"According to sources in the fragrance industry hired to develop Lady Gaga‘s first fragrance, the pop star has requested that the scent “smell of blood and semen.” The idea is mildly shocking, but Gaga is not the first person to think of it. Rad Hourani, who recently created a fragrance for Six Scents, listed semen as a source of inspiration. To Gaga’s nose: We’re not so sure how to recreate the scent of blood, but here’s a suggestion for the semen: The pollen of Callery Pear or Bradford Pear trees."
    Source: The Fashionista

Wonder if Coty would allow it?

What is the point of a Lady Gaga fragrance anyhow? I think a better idea would be a Lady Gaga burger for Burger King. After all, she likes to wear meat and her music is the equivalent of junk food.

Agreed. What's she's best at is marketing, so it makes sense to license her name. That said, I hope it smells like monsters.

Another perfume to sell at Sephora and the likes.
They'll sell 1000 on the first day and then slowly the number will decline because it smells like nothing.

Aren't there already at least 1-5 blood (and semen?) scents. Rather incredible Madonna never did a fragrance (has she?).
Wouldn't it be funny if it was a nicely done floral? My guess is an oddly dark unisex thing...patch/oud/rose in a very unique bottle, a la tommy Hilfiger LOUD. Maybe some smoke/leather. Yawn.

I thought as much as well.

I believe the -alleged- notes sound to me too much like any Etat Libre d'Orange. I 've heard blood and semen were involved as notes and also an idea of "expensive hooker", so...

if her idiotic, amateurish pseudo sci fi video is any indicator, it will smell like a confused, jumbled mess of bits and parts of other, much better fragrances

"Lady G's" Fame was released mid December, 2012 before Christmas, at Macys.
You can read what's in it right on their site.
She used "Coty Prestige." Madonna's "Truth or Dare" came from Coty, & it's a beautiful scent; just not a Winter fragrance.
Coty has stood the test of time, & there are many Perfumers who use them. I say props to Coty for putting out some beautiful fragrances!
