    Default What does icy mean?

Some reviews will say "icy smell" or "icy feel" Does this mean minty in smell? Or perhaps cold to the skin?

I understand it when someone says a fragrance feels or smells warm like say Tommy for example, I definitley get that warm feeling from it. But I don't understand what icy means? I would love to find a fragrance like this to experience it, or maybe I already have one in my collection?

I dunno ... but, Icemen Showergel by Mugler
does indeed feel cold on the skin. It's freaky!

Yeah, I think Ice Men by Mugler is a good example. Some say it's similar to Ben Gay or Vicks VaporRub. I don't see Mentol listed
in the note pyramid, but it sure seems like it may be in there.

Icy = conveys a menthol (or similar) note.

This is how I interpret and associate "Icy" as well. A mentholated accord/note in a scent conjures "icy" to my nose. Gris Clair and Hugo XY give me this sensation.

Lavender can have a "cold" feel to it (Monotheme's Scottish Lavender, for example) as can camphor.

Menthol, mint, camphor, etc. BTW Graham Webb makes a shampoo called Ice-Cap that lives up to its name and feels great, especially in the summer.

In my opinion icy = that kind of air when you wake up in a cold blistering morning of january and you go outside and inhale that fresh air.
