Default Any love for Lou Lou?

I have recently discovered this scent after smelling it on a friend,
    who wore it beautifully.
I think it is warm, sensuous and long-lasting
with an tropical feel. The bottle is not its best feature, however.
    What say you????

I resently found a bottle at a permanent flea market here in DK.

I loved the smell, but like you, I'm most definately not a fan of the
bottle, it's down right ugly. I bought some vintage Madame Rochas
and Miss Dior instead from the same lady.

With that said, I do believe I'll return to collect it anyway, as the
    smell indeed is deee-licious!

I had this in a set once and wore it quite happily till the tiny bottle ran out. I'm not sure I would have bought it especially otherwise.

I've just had to scurry off mid sentence and go and try some on. It comes over very, very sweet, floral vanilla on me, then immeadiately turns to a strong, sweet, peppery powder full of floral rooty spice, then more sweet vanillla.

Nice, but very powdery and sweet. Green chypres smell better on my skin. I pull out all the heavy notes in any perfume and make flowers all musky.

Indeed! I have been loving LouLou for ages now - since its release in the 80's.
The perfume-bottle with the extrait in it is much nicer than the spray, of course.

That's interesting - it isn't available in the extrait form over here,
as far as I am aware. Would love to compare the two.
Can you post a picture of the extrait bottle?

Lou Lou is indeed beautiful, I am keeping a decant around. I swapped away my (very ugly) bottle because I wasn't wearing it often in spite of it being a great scent.

    Hi!

I absolutely adore Lou Lou! But I think it is a perfume that you either love or dislike, because it's very special. Nevertheless I'm trying to find another perfume which smells about the same.
Have you any suggestions what to try?

P.S. I also like Anaïs Anaïs de Cacharel, Trésor de Lancôme, Estée Super de Estée Lauder etc.

    Best wishes from Sweden

I wore it when it first came out. Loved it. Then a friend kept telling me it smelt like beer. LOL Think it was the opening for some reason. If it did smell like beer on me, I wonder why I wasn't fighting the men off.

What a nice discovery to make kewart - congratulations! It doesn't surprise me that you like it Duc - I need to try them side by side, but Lou Lou has always reminded me of a softer, more powdery and less fruity version of (vintage) Poison.

And I'm clearly in the minority, but I've always loved the bottle, the box and the ads. I think they're very romantic, unusual, and a tad exotic while still seeming very "French" - they just seem to suit the fragrance. (I wish I could find a pic of the atomizer - it's absolutely charming!)

I like the parfum bottle too - it reminds me of vintage Richard Hudnut "Debut" bottles. I like the fragrance too, although reserve it for cool-weather romantic wear. Someone once compared the scent to chocolate cake - somehow that captures the fruity sweetness of it.

It was hugely popular here in Finland in late Eighties, and sadly often overdosed in a big way by girls who also overdosed hairspray and make up on their every single visit to the ladies' room, so it still makes me shudder.

    Love the bottle, though.

I'm a fan of the fragrance and the bottle. The pale blue, opaque glass looks like it's from the 1930s. A jasmine oriental, HEAVEN!

Has anyone tried Lou Lou Blue? I saw it while trying to find info about the regular Lou Lou. I've not heard of it before.
