    Question Musc Ravageur or M7?

I like having fragrances that can be versatile.

I'm looking to add another fragrance to my collection. I'd like something I can wear all year round.

My choices are Musc Ravageur and M7.

For summer I'd be wearing it on cooler days around 26°C (i.e. rainy days), and evenings (not extremely humid days/evenings).

Which would you recommend, and why?

I would like to thank you in advance.

M7, if you love smelling woody and aromatic. it's like hugging a lug of wood. smells absolutely gorgeous towards basenotes.

Musc Raveguer, if you like spicy scents with a sweet, vanilla base. smells very aromatic towards openign with a hint of gourmand...and subtle, but suave towards base.

Both are poles apart in the genre they represent. M7 would be a bit edgier for year round use as opposed to Musc R.

As far as a year-round fragrance goes, I'd probably go with the Musc Ravageur. It's one of the better Frédéric Malle entries, and is not likely to ever overpower anyone you come in contact with unless they have a strong aversion to vanilla. M7 is a stronger fragrance, and its agarwood is more likely to get you noticed, especially when the "medicine" aspect of it is in full bloom before the drydown arrives. I don't think you'd go wrong with either one, however.

Does 26° C count as a cooler day? M7 or Musc Ravageur in 26° C? I'd rather kill myself. Lol, in Sweden that is a really hot day. I'd go for something like... errr... Guerlain Eau de Imperiale.

Sorry mate, I should also give you a proper answer: Musc Ravageur. It is da bomb.

Well if versatility is your restriction then you should go with M7. But Musc Ravageur is totally awesome and much more exciting and awesome to me so if you don't *have* to abide by the restriction, get MR.

I don't know about year-round but no matter what, my choice of the two would be M7!
I can't wear MR anytime. It's way too cinnamon-y and suffocatingly sweet..

I am very fond of M7 and M7 Fresh. But I sampled MR recently and it too is haunting my scent lust dreams. . . another one for my must-buy list. . .

I hate M7 and love Musc Ravageur. You decide.

M7 Fresh for the hotter weather. Key though is to spray, spray, spray and walk through. Same with M7. Straight full blasts to the chest can be a bit stuffy when it's warm out. In the colder months, I like them straight on.

"Aromatic" usually refers to a spicy/herbal quality (which can be sharp). For example, there are classic men's aromatic fougères; they are the most herbal and spicy kinds of fougères.

Layer them and create your own Frankenscent (without the stitches, of course).

M7 is one of my favs - a thick, medicinal, sensual, mysterious fragrance. Definately not one for daytime or warm weather use. Maybe you could try M7 fresh? I haven't tried it but understand it is more wearable in warmer weather.

I've only sampled MR once and I was put off by the topnotes that persisted. All I could smell is lots of sweet cinnamon like candy or chewing gum. I need to revisit it to see if something more interesting eventually develops with it.
