Tauer - Vetiver Dance
A beautiful vetiver that I just discovered.

Tabac Original by Mäurer & Wirtz
Okay, I figured that Amouage for Men does not work for me (longevity - frag falling apart and disappear) and/or makes me feel uncomfortable (that burning frankincense note)... Fortunately, I also tried the Lyric Woman in the shop last Friday. I was given a sample and give it a full wearing today. It looks as if I found "the rose fragrance" I wanted.
Notes include: Lavender, Black Tea, Leather, Woody Notes.

"Perfume is, among other things, the most portable form of intelligence."
“Perfume is decidedly not about two things: it isn’t about memory and it isn’t about sex. Perfume is about beauty and intellect....A perfume is a message in a bottle—not a smell—and the message is written by the perfumer and read by the person who smells it.”
There isn't much of that intelligence here. This place has become a ridiculous focus group of insecure and not very curious men looking for something that will attract women and stimulate people to give them compliments. They don‘t know much but they’re blowing loads over the latest half-assed $300 niche fragrance they figure must be better than all hundred and twenty five years of Guerlain combined.

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

I rather like the scent, but must agree with the reviewers who note that it doesn't last at all.
