Thanks to a generous gift from a wonderful perfume friend, I am wearing Alyssa Ashley for Houbigant Ambergris and it is fabulous! It's fresh and clean yet warm, musky and a bit salty and wears closely and comfortably. A true skin scent.

    Take care, everyone!

I'm planning on wearing Bulgari Eau Parfumee au The Vert Extreme (is it PC to just say Green Tea Extreme?). I seem to really love that tea'ish note since I also love EA Green Tea, Nicolai's Fig Tea, and Osmanthe Yunnan. Currently, however, I'm in the scent of sweat, after my stint in the gym. It's supposed to be 95F today and as humid as a steam bath. Sigh...that's Atlanta for you!

RHM, I hope you had a stellar day!

Early morning & lots of guys running around the building in flak vests.
This does not bode well, but the sky is Dallas Cowboy blue with a wonderful breeze, and two children in the daycare across the street just waved to me. : )

Going to hold onto that for some balance in my corner of the universe - wearing TDC Bois d'Iris.

I settled on Osmanthe Yunnan, and I am very pleased with my choice. It's lasting longer than I thought it would; smells clean and there is a prominent tea note which I love. Now to decide what's next (SotA) once this wears off!

RHM, don't throw Fudgie the Whale away - Turn him into an icebox cake! Soften a quart of your favorite icecream, crumble Fudgie in, pour into a disposalble aluminum cake pan lined with wax paper or parchment, press crushed cookies of your choice into the top, and re-freeze. Enjoy one slice at a time for ages. Make your birthday last for months!

Today I am wearing the absolutely gorgeous Guerlain Sous le Vent... Created for the legendary Miss Josephine Baker in the 1930s. MAN, I love this stuff!

Sous le Vent notes: Basil, bergamot, lavender, tarragon, carnation, oakmoss, iris, woods, patchouli.

Poor hot and muggy babies. Wisconsin's been terrific with temps mostly in the 60-70°F range and regular showers for the garden.

Haven't been feeling scent-venturous for the longest time, just loving the staples. Second day in fruity leather: VIP Room.

I'm on vacation, North Carolina beach house with 18 of my inlaws. I love each and every one (strange, but true) -- but can we all come and visit you in Wisconsin, Quarry? It is WAAAAY too hot here. :-(

Brought a bunch of samples and decants with me -- this morning grabbed one without looking, and thought it was Norell. Surprised to see it is Amourouse. (now I'll have to try them side by side, my scent memory may be playing tricks on me...)

I started off the day with Tea Rose, a decant from a generous BNer, but am now going to wash that off and spray on the teeny tiny bit of CDG Lily (Series 1: Leaves) that remains from the sample I was sent by yet another nice BNer.

Lily is just marvelous stuff! (I'm such a sucker for lily of the valley fragrances.) I've been thinking of springing for a FB of it, but $82 for 50 ml of a fragrance that needs to be resprayed often, gives me pause.

    Edit:

Crossing this one off my list! Lily smelled great the last time I wore it-- today it disappointed; maybe with the warmer weather it developed differently. I guess I saved myself a bit of money!

    Nice spin, Quarry!

It's still dipping into the 50s at night, and that means the heat is still on in mid-June! I'm in a sweater right now, for Pete's sake! Oh, what I wouldn't give for a string of hot and sultry days...

The bright side (in addition to outstanding garden performance- you're right on the money with that one!) is that I've been wearing lots of my favorite cool-weather fragrances. My self-imposed seasonal restrictions are gone, and that's pretty liberating! Viva Diva!

    Hi everyone!
For this "summery -feeling" day, I'm wearing Hermes 24 Faubourg Eau Delicate, which is a truly sparkling, citrus-floral delicate scent, with a big hit of elegance thrown in for good measure. Only drawback is longevity (3-4 hrs at best), so re-spritzing is required.

    Good morning!

It's hot here and I will be spendign most of the day in a meeting, so I needed something that wouldn't suffocate everyone in close quarters. Fortunately, my partial bottle of Gucci Accenti arrived yesterday, and who could object to smelling that? The seller was, shall we say, "optimistic" in her estimate of how much was left in it -- but it smells WONDERFUL.

I am doing an interesting arm comparison today -- it's Mitsouko new EDP on one arm and Dawn Spencer Hurwitz's Mitsouko "type" in essential oil on my other arm. Oh dear! I wrote elsewhere that I can detect a smell of peach in a new EDP but it's not like a real peach, it is more of a platonic idea of a peach. In Dawn's oil it's a real thing, its skin mostly.

Le Grand Duke, how do you like Tresor Elixir? How different it is from Tresor?

Hugs, no, better yet cool ocean winds from the Pacific to everyone who's hot today!
I am joining those who are looking for a warm Summer day, it's very cool here. I think low 60s and might rain. It's the Pacific Northwest coast for ya!

SotD for the last 3 days has been No.5 Eau Premiere layered with No.5 parfum (modern release). I love how the EP sparkles and how the parfum has such depth...but I am also discovering that I prefer No.5 on days off or for a relaxed afternoon-evening. It just doesn't have the horsepower I need for work (think Dior Homme or No.19).

I've missed alot of birthdays--hope everybody had happy ones, full of fun and good frags!

Today I'm wearing Rose d'Ete from the sample I received this weekend. I love how this smells....and it's lasted longer than I expected!

Some Boudoir, Vivienne Westwood arrived thismorning and I have been smelling it all day. It doesn't smell like the review says, of old pants on me (at least I hope not). It's actually rather spicy, floral, powdery and nice. It isn't quite as long lasting or strong on me as some say and I have refreshed it this evening. So far, I am delighted with it on first wearing.

I must say I like the sound of the Guerlain Sous le Vent. Lovely ingredients.

    Take care, everyone!
Oh, that is a fabulous scent! I have a very small decant that I treasure beyond words. It always smells a little citrus to me, too.

Today I wore No.5 Elixir Sensuel; I'm wearing Kenzo Amour for bed. I'm really saying goodbye to it; I love it, but it's way too heavy on me and it gives me a headache. Arrrrgh, so frustrating.

Howdy friends. Thanks to the lovely Potiron, my SOTD today was Bond No 9 Silver Factory. I love incense in hot weather and this fits the bill perfectly.
I got to see Potiron, VMIhatecivet and Alicka69 on Saturday for a Basenotes meet-up. It was great! (Well, duh! Of course it was! These gals are all great.)

I'm thinking of a spritz of Mitsouko parfum for bed, which is calling me.
Have a good one y'all. Peace, love and good smells. x

My morning scent was Blu Mediterraneo Bergamotto di Calabria from a sample "discovery kit," layered with the body creme of the same scent. A great fresh scent for my all-day meeting with subject matter experts from DC. (The floating somewhat ephemeral citrus scent with hints of wood and floral - top notes: Calabrian bergamot, Calabrian citron; middle notes: cedarwood, red ginger; base notes: Vetiver, Benzoin, musk - kept me awake and calm. Heh.) This afternoon I switched back to yesterday's afternoon scent, Guerlain Samsara, EDT, new formulation (which I just wrote up a review of on "the blog" in the sig line)... and of which I am growing swiftly rather fond.

Hope everyone is well, I am quite busy and finally have company coming tonight... hugs all 'round! And to Le Grand Duc(kiness) ... your current sig is making me blush, maybe it's the double-entendres! (not a bad thing, eh.)

I just practice at prudishness. The truth is... I always knew what was under those kilts. (it's my mother's genetic heritage that makes me blush.)
