Thread: THE Definitive Autumn Scent
To hop on Finsfan's bandwagon...

I think of leaves turning in the fall, so I think some Lancome Miracle is nice in Autumn to conjure up images
of the fall foliage and the maple trees.

Well, I live in Texas so we don't really get an Autumn, per se. That time of year, though, I like rich vanilla or amber frags. Top pick would be l'Artisan's Havana Vanille. Love wearing it when there's a bit of warmth outside because it really seems to blossom. Wonderful frag, IMO.
The smell of Bel Ami has always reminded me of some of the trees during the fall where I grew up.

For autumn i prefer to wear citrus and warm fragrances. maybe D&G PH
Or Carolina herrera CH . It's not Citrus. IT's floral in middle and leather in base.
For me, I think it would be a tie between Biehl al02 ( oriental stewed fruit ) and Serge Lutens Fille En Aiguilles ( sweet and spicy pine ).

Autumn is my favourite season !
I will say Gucci pour Homme (2003).
Seeking: Bottles/decants : of Alain Delon Iquitos, Feeling Man, Gucci pour Homme, Essence of John Galliano, Opium pour Homme, Oxford & Cambridge, Azzaro pour Homme (vintage), Concentré D'Orange Verte...etc.
Seeking decant/sample of Jil Sander Feeling Man, Comme des Garcons 2 Man, Giorgio VIP, ....etc. I have samples to swap.
Please PM me !
This is a question I myself was wondering....I look forward to the other answers....
To throw in my two cents, a frag I could see working in fall would be John Varvartos Vintage with it's pumpkin pie spice/cider notes

I don't currently have any scent especially for Autumn, but on my 'try/buy" list are:
Paul Smith London
At the moment I would just wear the same as I did in Spring:
L'Occitane 4 Voleurs
Manes by Remy LaTour
Burberry London. Hands down for me, I wore it on my honeymoon in 2006. Fall in Italy.

"As you walk down the fairway of life you must smell the roses, for you only get to play one round."
There are a few in my opinion - two of which have already been mentioned:
Caron L'Anarchiste - I've often said this is "the smell of autumn, bottled." Apple, clove, cinnamon and woods. Excellent!
Xeryus Rouge - a smattering of fruit along with dry woods that evoke a grey, overcast autumn day.
MPG Bois de Turquie - soft woods and incense with a good helping of autumnal spices (cinnamon and bay leaf, namely). Autumn near a Turkish temple.
Iris Pallida 50ml
Ungaro I 75ml
and more! - http://www.basenotes.net/threads/301...n-Man-and-more
I agree with Michael Kors for Men. There are a lot of good Autumn scents named above, but when I think about the DEFINITIVE Autumn scent, absolutely nothing can touch the dry, warmth of Michael.
I particularly enjoy Viktor & Rolf Antidote around that time of year.
The aforementioned Michael also gets another thumbs up.

I agree with the votes for L'Anarchiste.
Ungaro III- its notes even remind me of dried leaves, overly ripe, even slightly decaying and musty fruit, sweet grapes, burnt wood, incense and oily-powdery smelling florals
Azzaro pour Homme- burly powerhouse classic, both strong and yet subtle enough for any season, but particularly suitable if combined with rather formal, semi-formal or office-/boardroom-/country club- autumn or winter wear, sheer distinction with and edgy vibe
Zino Davidoff- another rich and dark, boozy, slightly eccentric powerhouse, immediately suggesting, at least to me, golden-brown, ambery shades of a fine cognac and/or premium quality tobacco, slowly and voluptuously enjoyed in front of the chimney during and overlong, rainy and rather grim autumn day

I'll go for L'Anarchiste or Epicea
Just about any heavy oriental is great in fall:
Sequoia , Opium ph edp, Sables, just about any Lutens. I will also second Burning Leaves.
Lalique - Encre Noir
wet rainy day with lots of leaves
Caron - Yatagan
don't really know why, but this one always struck me as an autumn fragrance
VC & A - Pour homme
Guerlain - Mitsouko (edp current formulation)
the best fragrance ever imho. excellent all year round but espcially in fall
Knize Ten !
Paco Rabanne Tenere
Paco Rabanne Tenere
Issey Miyake L'Eau Bleu
come to my mind at the moment
Burberry London, Habit Rouge, & M7 are my autumn pics.
