+1 Le Male. Or cheaper alternatives Cuba Gold and 360 White. Also I hear Ignition is supposed to be one of the better vanillas out there, but I'm not sure if it's masculine or not. Raw Vanilla by Coty is actually one of my favorite vanilla's but most who have smelled that would agree that it's uni, although marketed to men. It definitley approaches vanilla differently than the majority, it's like a very natural vanilla combined with fresh cut grass.

    Parfumerie Generale Felanilla

    M. Micallef Gaïac -- has a lot of vanilla to my nose, but it's much more than that and OH so good.

+1 on 1725 (Casanova) by Histoires de Parfums though it's not exactly a vanilla-dominant scent

    Also try:
    Jicky by Guerlain
    Pour Un Homme by Caron
    Arpege pour Homme

Two very nice vanilla dominant fragrances in my wardrobe are 360 White for Men by Perry Ellis and Ignition by Lomani. I personally only wear these two fragrances when the temperatures outside here are freezing or below (my preference for vanilla-dominant frags).

I would add Rochas Man, which is a very close relative of A*men, just sweeter, lighter and bit more refined. Fairly easy to find on line, not easy to find on shelves, but absolutely worth a sniff. Rochas Lui is far more refined and elegant, but scarcely available.
Maybe Tom Ford Black Orchid? I don't like it, but it's got a good load of vanilla in it.
For a sheer and light vanilla, try DKNY Pure, although addressed to a female audience, it's a fairly unisex scent.

    Vanilia - L'Artisan Parfumeur

In the late 70s, long before both were released commercially, bottles each of Givenchy Pi and Egoiste fell into a basin and got broken. The hapless owner tried to salvage as much as possible. Raw vanilla pod essence was later used to replace the benzoin from Pi. Vanilia was the result [note to reader: salt. pinches...] Vanilla pod-dominant (not sweet at all) and sandalwood galore. Beautiful. Masculine - certainly not as sweet as Le Male or L'Instant.

    Another echo for Habit Rouge.
Also for Caron Pour Un Homme.

My favorite though is SDV. It is marketed as a feminine, I believe, but that doesn't bother me.

PdN Vanille Intense - Vanilla and Incense. Very well done. You might also want to check out PdN's Tonka Vanille. I little lighter on the vanilla with some tangerine and lime thrown in.

Oooh, Vanilla and Incense. After Shalimar, I'm now hooked onto smoky vanillas. Looks like I need to try this next

Well other than the obvious SDV, my favorite is Eau de Baux. To get a true vanilla note, unfortunately you need to go to niche because there doesn't really exist one in the current designer market.

Creed Sublime Vanille, of course. It's very, very smooth vanilla. Too bad about that $550 price tag. At least treat yourself to a sample if you're in a Neiman's.

Another favorite: Dior Homme Intense. Oh my, it is so addictively good. . . you have been warned. . .

Best season for vanilla: chilly weather, but if you like vanilla enough to ask this question, go ahead and wear it anytime. Just go light on it in warm weather.
