I've got a sample of the modern version of L'Heure Bleue and I love it (possibly more than Mitsouko ). But I'm wondering if it's worth investing in a vintage bottle of the fragrance of is the modern version the same or as good?
What formulation supperman? EdT, EdP (PdT) or parfum?
It's the Parfum de Toilette version. Didn't realize that it's the same as EdP.
If it were me I'd go for it, but personally I just happen to think LHB is the classic scent of all time and would be happy to get hold of any earlier formulation.
I picked up a Mitsuoko Parfum de Toilette last year (I'm guessing it's 15 - 20 years old) and it leaves the current EDT/EDP versions for dead.
If it has been stored well I don't see how you can go wrong?
OK supperman, so YES, the L' Heure Bleue Parfum de Toilette is richer, deeper, more intense and a bit more 'natural' smelling than today's EdP. I have worn both, side by side, twice. Smelled in this way, it is easy to pick out the vintage PdT which I prefer. I don't know what I will do, when I run out of my decant. It seems like the EdP would never satisfy me, once I've worn the PdT.
Have you smelled vintage LHB Eau de Cologne? It is also, very good. If you can find a bottle that the juice has been properly stored.
I would suggest you go for the L'heure Bleue but, I must admit I winced when you said you possibly loved it more than Mitsouko. I think that might qualify as heresy. (LOL) Mitsouko is my main squeeze.
