Thread: Best mediterranean cologne!
Name the best mediterranean cologne in your opinion
Un Jardin Sur le Nil
Obsessions of the Moment- Kristiansand EDC, Green Irish Tweed, Zizan
Granted, we've known each other for some time. It don't take a whole day to recognize sunshine. ~ Common Sense
Not my favorite field, but I do like Trussardi's Essenza del Tempo. 1+ years ago I went absolutely crazy about it.
Versace Pour Homme is quite mediterranean-ish.
Acqua di Parma Colonia Intensa.
Acqua di Parma Colonia & The Different Company Bergamote do it for me.
I have started a thread asking for opinions on Mazzolari - Bergamotto Mediterraneo. My experiences with Lui and Mazzolari Mazzolari are that this company tend to take an idea to the max in a good way so I am hopeful about this new one . . .
+1 Carthusia Mediterraneo, especially the perfume strength which is far better than the EDT
Un Jardin En Mediterranee
Grezzo - Profumo.it
I believe I only have two that qualify right now:Aqua Di Parma Colonia Intensa and Marc Jacobs.
I believe that they are both great to wear. If I had to chose one, probably I'd go with Marc Jacobs.
I think the sweet fig note gives this one a unique place in my collection.

What makes a cologne 'mediterranean'? Location of production? Stylistic elements?
My vote is for Acqua di Parma Colonia which happens to be the fragrance I reach for most often.
Solo Loewe and Solo Loewe Intense
Acqua di Genova Colonia
Versace L'Homme (1984)
Creed Bois du Portugal
(although the latter two have, in spite of the name, a slightly more Oriental-spicy touch, even if combined with Mediterranean notes)
I don't know about "best," but an interesting one that deserves more attention ifs Acqua di Parma Mirto di Panarea from the Blu Mediterraneo series. Here are the notes:
•Top Notes: Myrtle, Bergamot, Calabrian Lemon, Sweet Orange, Basil
•Middle Notes: Jasmine, Rose, Lilac, Blackcurrant Buds, Lentisc, Juniper
•Base Notes: Cedarwood, Amber

"It's not what you look like when you're doing what you're doing; it's what you're doing when you're doing what you look like you're doing."
So we're talking garrigue fragrances, yeah? It's such a timely topic because I love this sort of thing in the summer. I'm going to say Tuscany, which I wore today and L'Eau Trois, which I wore yesterday. Among masculine florals, Givenchy Insense and Guerlain's Coriolan both have this sort of vibe, too.
Another vote for Aramis Tuscany. All of the classic Mediterranean herbs are represented here, it's a wonderfully well balanced fragrance, and it's a great value to boot. Honorable mention to Acqua di Parma Colonia and AdP Assoluta. Intensa fails for me as a classic Mediterranean scent because of the overpowering dominance of Iso E Super. I haven't tried AdP Mirto di Panarea, but based on Jaime's description, it sounds like a perfect fit. Who better to evoke the Mediterranean than Acqua di Parma?

I would second the suggestion of Le Jardin Sur le Nil by Hermes.
I also want to second the wise above who post about Aqua di Parma Colonia. It's another favorite of mine.
That girl, that bottle, that mattress and me.
quasar Jesus del pozo , is bright , citrus, herbal , sensual , aromatic .... superb
I agree, Pluran. The herb/citrus combo of Eau de Guerlain is right on target.

I like several of the Aqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo offerings.
Tuscan Cypress is my favorite. Great stuff.
Acqua di Parma Mirto di Panarea from the Blu Mediterraneo series.
I agree with Jamie although I have to say as much as I liked it, it's staying power (on me at least) left much to be desired....
