Well today I am wearing Bas de Soie.
Wearing something that I wouldn't usually bother with:
It's an old bottle and a little on the rancid side, but very pleasant on this cool summer's day.
This week, 'Chanel Cuir de Russie: Skin Scent' at http://thescentimentalist.blogspot.com/
Good morning everyone Today I'm going to the hairdresser to dye my eyelashes. In general I feel much more comfortable wearing mascara, and with the eyeinfection it will just be a mess....So I decided this was a good idea. This will make me so much more comfortable when the outdoor concerts I'm attending next week go on Sotd is Dzing!
Hi Ineeespenes, I have had my lashes died in the past and found it looked good and lasted
I am testing Iris Pallida - from a sample sent to me by the very generous Ubeuandibeme!
This scent is truly divine!! I am in love with it although I will never be able to afford a bottle.
A woman without perfume is like a flower without a scent.
Today I'll wear Coney Island. This is a very happy fragrance for me.

Lilybelle, you smell yummy! I bought a bottle of that unsniffed, and then turned around and bought two more (as if I would ever run out). IT is that good, and for a very reasonable price!
I'm chilling in Hermes Hiris this morning. Have a great day everyone.

I think it smells softer and sweeter on a hot day.

Dyeing eyelashes and applying self-tanner? I'm woefully under made-up.
Just did a dry rub of Donna Karan Cashmere Mist from a paper insert. Pleasant enough and a good change of pace for one who tends to get stuck in a rut.

I'm in the all-but-forgotten, original Gucci No.1 from 1974. This has been a favorite of mine for a very long time, and I'm just shocked that so little information about it is available. Just locating an old ad is very difficult, never mind finding any notes! (I believe this is one of the searches that originally brought me to basenotes.) It's an exquisitely blended, sparkling aldehydic floral on a warm chypre base - refined, chic and elegant, vivacious but not flamboyant or loud... just classic in every way. Admittedly, I have a lot of nostalgia attached to it, but I think it's nearly perfect none-the-less. I'm glad I have plenty.
Y'all have a wonderful day!
Following on my FB purchase arrival I'm wearing Guerlain Mouchoir de Monsieur this morning. It starts with a lot of citrus (to my nose lemon-drop sweet lemon) followed by a skin-scent that seems to me to have a little bit of a ginger-snap feeling to it.... I kind of bathed in it, but as with many Guerlain Masculines it is neither strong nor long-lasting. I don't get any civet in it at all and barely get the lavender... definitely not a soapy nose-hit as lavender sometimes is, anyway... blended nicely with the citrus. A good hot-weather scent if you have the ability to reapply OFTEN.
I like it and will likely decant it into an atomizer for frequent day reapplication, but it's another slight disappointment in its lack of longevity. It smells too nice to last such a short while.
Luna Babe- you must smell great ! If you like M de M , you'll surely love Jicky too.
This morning , it's a dash of Carnal Flower.

I'm in Hermes Caleche today. I always love this one!
On a hot day, I love Neil Morris' Zephyr perfume. The top notes are tangerine & papaya, heart notes of honeysuckle & Casablanca Lily. Basenotes (these are my favorite part of the scent) are sandalwood, amber & oceanic musc. Neil does wonderful things with florals and basenotes in his scents.
