Default Basenoters that Enjoy Coffee Notes.

    Hey Guys:

Question for you. I have several coffee scented colognes in my wardrobe (Lancome Miracle, Polo Double Black, Trussardi Inside Man). I enjoy all three on occasion. However, I very rarely drink coffee. I don't know if I drank a single cup this past year.
I guess the smell of fresh brewed coffee is OK enough. Coffee breath certainly doesn't do it for me. I was just wondering what percentage of basenoters own a coffee frag, yet either hate or rarely drink coffee for whatever reason.

Hate coffee but I love the coffee note in Givenchy Play Intense.

The coffee note in vintage Santal Noble was pretty good, too.

Both a coffee drinker (tea, too!), with a number of coffee-laden scents, including Ava Luxe's Cafe Noir, which is pretty much a coffee soliflore.

Me too! My mother says I take too much coffee, and she's known to drink 3-4 cups a day... Oh I love coffee liqueur too, especially Kahlua, it goes really well with ice cream and cakes.

I can't handle caffeine as well as most people, so I limit my coffee consumption. Decaf on occasion in colder weather.

I do love the smell of coffee.

I like coffee scents. The only one I own is Penhaligon's Endymion, but I don't reach for it often.

Well - I'm a huge lover of anything coffee so I'm not the exact type you're looking for - but, yes, I do enjoy fragrances with coffee notes. The only ones I have are TM's Pure Coffee (which is nice, but I hardly ever wear it) and Vintage MPG Santal Noble (probably my favorite fragrance of all time). Although I do appreciate these frags, I don't find myself searching for coffee-specific frags. I think those two satisfy my coffee-fix just fine. Now Vetiver, on the other hand...

Don't forget Rochas Man. it's one of my favourite fragrances. This is just my one experiment in coffee note

I drink coffee black, which means no "coffee breath," though it depends upon what else, if anything you consume with it (the milk in the coffee does it; I read an article about this not too long ago, and it seems to be true). I'll also eat coffee ice cream but I prefer chocolate, and I eat a lot of chocolate. The reason I mention this is because I don't find myself drawn to coffee or chocolate frags. However, on the rare occasions that I feel that I'd like a "coffee frag," I usually reach for Jacomo for Men ("Silver"). It's got pineapple, plum, coffee, amber, etc., but the "trick" to it is to ignore it for half an hour or so, and then it comes together very nicely and lasts a long time. It doesn't smell like a coffee shop, but the coffee note is clear.

    I don't drink coffee.
But everytime I'm in the airport, I buy a frappuchino
And I own 4 100ml's of Mugler's Pure Coffee, as it is a great winter sensual/gourmand.
And 2 90ml Santal Noble, perhaps the most gentlemanly use of a coffee note ever..
Ava Luxe's Cafe Noir was ok too, but I don;t own it.

The single most amazing coffee scent out there imho is Bond. No. 9's New Haarlem and Ava Luxe Cafe Noir.

A friend brought a bottle of Next Essence Mirra et Caffe EDP back from Rome (Myrrh and Coffee, I guess).

Can't find any info online . . . it's good fun - very bright, slightly sweet 'toasted' coffee bean aroma, quite potent and lasts a good few hours. Makes you smile.

I love coffee drinks but have yet to find a coffee note to love in a fragrance... But 'cafe noir' sounds great.

I just love the smell of coffee in the morning, but I'm not so fond of it in fragrances, can't say the same thing about tobacco

I used to think I hated coffee notes. Things like A*Men, Bond's New Harlem, and Neil Morris' Cafe that made me want to vomit, there is something in that particular coffee note I physically can't stand. That being said, Perfume By Nature's Craving utterly changed by mind on coffee notes - it's delicious! No nausea there, and all in all a great fragrance. Lasts wonderfully well for a natural, too.

i love a good coffee, but i dont drink it alot. it think that relying on caffeine to wake up is really a bad idea, youre just making yourself feel even worse once it wears off.

the main coffee fragrance i own is A*Men, the opening is like a good Starbucks Coffee. I own Rochas Man as well but i really dont smell coffee (maybe im just used to A*Men's explosion). I do smell coffee in Ice*Men too, but its a much greener coffee

Ice*Men is guess works? i wear Rochas occasionally in the summer...

coffee is a tough summer note. its very thick, heavy, and powerful. quite the opposite of the usual summer fragrance

I didnt get a chance to check ice*men.

in theory yeah coffee is a heavy note, but a good quality ice coffee does have a cooling aroma.
