Default Mediterraneum by Proteo ( Versace) - A versatile oriental for the summer months

I have been revisiting Mediterraneum lately simply because I have always liked this scent and it's a non-aquatic that works great for me in the spring-summer months.

This is semi-spicy and features a rendition of mandarin that is perfectly sweet. The accord structure is tried and true with a citric opening, floral heart with spice and very good oriental base.

Volume is perfect and projection-longevity is average. Prices for this sleeper are still bargain basement on ebay and yes......I will pull the trigger today on another lot of 2 bottles.....not because it's cheap.....but because this scent smells terrific.

I am 99% sure this Versace thing is just a misunderstanding or pure invention. Proteo Profumi Srl was a company owned and registered by Arturo Ricci which was the manager of Romeo Gigli fragrances department in the early Nineties. If any, Proteo may have had some vague connection to Romeo Gigli, but absolutely nothing to do with Versace.

    Hey,

Nice thread topic in general to discuss spicy scents that work well in the summer.

I think Tom Ford for Men or MDCI Invasion Barbare are both spicy scents that play well in the Summer months for some reason, unlike the classic Old Spice or Bay Rums.
