Screw the heat ... my SotD is;
Vintage Eau de Toilette
VIVE LE 14 JUILLET ! VIVE LA FRANCE !!!
GILLES ROMEY' S
Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

" I think part of my success as an editor came from never worrying about a fact, a cause, an atmosphere. It was me—projecting to the public. That was my job. I think I always had a perfectly clear view of what was possible for the public. Give 'em what they never knew they wanted." DiANA VREELAND
Sophi, I'm also enjoying roses today: Rose Pivoine from Nicolaï. A nice hot weather scent.
I'm in Mitsouko today.
My SOTD is Etat Libre d'Orange Jasmin et Cigarette - in honor of Bastille Day. Vive la France!
Notes include Jasmine absolute, tobacco, hay, apricot, tonka bean, turmeric, cedar, amber and musk.

A woman without perfume is like a flower without a scent.
Good morning all and Happy Bastille day for those celebratingToday I'm off to meet a friend over some coffee. she's also one of the few friends that also apreciate niche perfumes and scents in general. Looking forward to get out of the apartment a bit, since I tend to think too much when I'm here. A good thing my brother and sister also are here for the holiday! Sotd is Dzing! No real summer heat here, just rain, so I can still wear my spicy scents without any problems of cloyingness
Testing (again) YSL Elle today. Had to wear something French, mais oui?
Equistrius - Parfum d'Empire
Wishlist is pointless.
Vive la France!!!
Jo Malone Vanilla & Anise
Notes: bergamot, neroli, wild fennel flower, star anise, oleander, tuberose, frangipani, purple vanilla orchid, clove, white amber, vetiver, vanilla bourbon absolute, tonka bean
Despite that rather hearty-sounding note listing, this is a sheer, almost watery fragrance, with transparent florals and a non-foody vanilla. I love anise in fragrances and can pick out its refreshing character here, yet it is subtle and well-blended. Very soothing and pretty scent.
Take care, everyone!

I'm sampling some vintage Caron Infini pdt this morning (thanks L! ). I can't smell much...I'm waiting for my skin to warm it up so I can begin to get what it's all about.
Have a good day, all!

Après La Mousson. Well, it rained a little yesterday. Not exactly a monsoon, but any excuse!
Out here we are running for the wide open spaces, the road-smell after the rain.
Sharing the house of Hermès with Roberto and Petra Ichor today, I'm in the luxurious Parfum d'Hermès.
Happy Bastille Day ~ Viva La France!
Y'all have a wonderful day!

The Elle did not work...turned sour on my skin after a wonderful 30 minutes. It's been scrubbed off and I've got on a single spritz of Bois de Paradis.
Yardley English Rose today.
Rainy day here. We've been needing the rain, so it's all good.
Habit Rouge (vintage Eau de Toilette) + Habit Rouge vintage deodorant by Guerlain
Le Grand Duc, I totally adore your pict.
I'm in the divine Havana today.
Happy Bastille Day to our french Basenoters !
Scent of the morning is Joy !
Petty small minded people have no place in my life.
Bois de Paradis from Delrae today.
Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, which I have not worn in, oh, seemingly forever...for the going-to-be hot and darned humid (heat index @110 F!!!) day.
I am sampling Jean Patou's Enjoy, so I suppose I'm sort of scent sisters with Mimi Gardenia.
Top: cassis, banana accord, pear, natural bergamot, natural orange, mandarin
Middle: natural Bulgarian rose oil, natural Turkish rose absolute, natural Indian jasmine absolute, natural Indian cardamom, hedione
Base: natural patchouli, vanilla, amber, musk
Paco Rabanne Calandre
Happy Bastille Day! Think I'll join petrucciji in Etat Libre d'Orange Jasmin et Cigarette!
(Tested DSH's Nouveau Gardenia this morning. After a first blast reminiscent of superglue, it settled into a rather realistic gardenia. Will test again, as longevity didn't seem too good--but I often have that problem, in the morning especially.)
Sampling Matin Calin by CSP and guess what: The reviews are right - it DOES smell like baby vomit. Blech.
