    Default Your fantasy fragrance...

Your favorite Perfumer has just contacted you and asked you what fragrance notes should be included in his/her new fragrance. Also, they want you to name the new creation. How do you respond?

I want something all year round, a pure masculine blend Olivier. This sounds good to me.

Top notes: bergamot, sea salt, marine notes, Sicilian lemon, crisp fruit notes, light floral notes
Middle notes: pepper, tobacco ( leaf and flower), leather, vanilla, birch tar
Base notes: sandalwood, cedar wood, ambergris, tobacco, vanilla and chocolate

I want 17 oz flacons with black leather atomizers and call it The Essence of Sex and I dare anyone say otherwise.

One of them would be a mix of a fresh cut lime, with good projection and longevity, combined with a light leather and pepper or cardamom in the opening. Remaining pretty linear through the middle adding some soft unusual notes of green peppers and dark bittersweet chocolate into a dirty base, similar to Fahrenheit's middle. That motor oil smell in the base.. yet being able to keep a strong take on a fresh cut lime. <Dreaming> Ya like this will ever happen.. lulz

Another would be a fragrance that smells like a bloody mary.. aka Axe Instinct turned into a fragrance.

I've got lots of them in my head. But if I have to choose one:

    Ege
Bitter orange flowers, sweet orange, lemon and tarragon for the citric top.
oregano, green olive, gum mastic and mountain lavender for the aromatic heart
gum mastic, liquidambar, cedar and ambergris for the base.

green tea, walnut (husk and leaves), pine (extracted from resinous wood mixed with a touch of needles), blueberry, wild pear (ripe and spoiled), black tea, dirt, musk and sandalwood

I would like Hugh Heftner to give his ok for a playboy fragrance with the bunny logo on the bottle and it to have tobacco, leather and booze in its ingredients. I would like it to be launched at the playboy mansion with a big party where I am invited with a all area access pass.lol
Currently wearing: Royal Mayfair by Creed

    The House: Guerlain

The Miracle: Combine all the ancient classics (my faves) into one ultimate perfume that celebrates the "whole greater than sum of its parts" principle, (though to consider the possibility of such a thing with respect to a couple of those ancient classics, even in a fantasy, would cause much raising of horror-stricken palms!)

    The Name: Turducken Olfactif

    The Marketing:
Give it away free as an Act of Philanthropy and GoodWill, so that all the world would smell just awesome!

Yeah, you are correct. I'm removing posts that have NOTHING to do with fantasy fragrance. And I will put both of you in time out if you don't stop (she says in her best Mom Voice).

I like this idea so I'll give it another push.

    Citrose
    Top: Sweet Orange, bergamot, lemon+
    Heart: Bulgarian/Turkish Rose
    Base: Vetiver+, Oakmoss, Sandalwood, Patchouli
    + indicates emphasis

Rose is so amazing, and so versatile, I don't get why more unisex/masculine scents aren't out there that use big roses. At least that I know of.

I would ask the perfumer to make an uber-masculine fragrance with a very prominent rose note. Quite a challenge if you ask me.

My husband in the 1980's didn't wear cologne or aftershave but he did wear the original Old Spice deodorant and smoked camels. He no longer smokes, but I remember doing the laundry and I loved smelling his shirts, the combination of old spice and tobacco. It was such a incredibly delicious and sensuous scent. Who would of ever thought that tobacco could take scent to a completely different level. Very sexy!

Back when they were seeking entries for ideas for the BN Fragrance I submitted this....

    Étendue Infinie

Top Notes: Pine, Petit Grain, Fir, Grass
Middle Notes: Juniper, Magnolia, Tobacco, Neroli
Base Notes: Sandalwood, Tonka Bean, Patchouli, Vetiver

While I would still love this fragrance, admittedly, if I were to get one right now, it would be FAR lighter and brighter.

    Opus 26

    Top: petitgrain, cardamon, floral notes+

Middle: lavender, jasmine, iris, violet, ylang, cypress+

    Base: sandalwood, vetiver, tobacco, cedarwood+

No need to contact somebody. I made it some time ago for myself, it contains ca. 50% synthetic and ca. 50% natural oils. One week more and I can filter and use it. Really satisfied with this result.

I'd ask for a sweet and slightly boozy Gourmand.

And I'd call it D.N.N.A - Diabetics Need Not Apply

Let me think now, some notes...

Top: Blue Curacao, Sour Morello Cherry

Middle: Dark Chocolate, Tobacco Blossom, Clove, Bulgarian Rose Lokum

    Base: Benzoin, Tolu Balsam, Rosewood

I tend to have lots of ideas for fragrances others haven't explored, many "you know what would be good is..." moments, but I'm going to be completely selfish and get him to make a fragrance I want right now.

    Wedding In Hell
( apologies, Non-Blonde, for stealing your descriptor as a fragrance name! )

Notes, left to right, in order of decreasing prominence...

    Curacao - Black Cumin - Freesia - Mace - Nutmeg - Ice Wine - Pear - Peach

    Gardenia - Orange Blossom - Jasmine - Honey - Champaca - Acacia

    Musk - Civet - Amber - Castoreum - Rose - Myrrh - Pipe Tobacco

I'm imagining a huge mixed floriental centered on a gardenia note like Jardenia's, the animal side amped to MKK levels, the rich fruity-alcoholic top of Ambre Russe meets the spicy smokiness of Lubin's Idole. Something skanky, indolic, ripe-bordering-rot semi-gastronomic excess of a musky oriental meets luscious floral.

I know only me and a couple other fragrance-perverts would like this, but hey, that's the point of lusting for fictional frags!

"What's that Mr. Ellena, you want to make another big floral aldehydic like First and Dia?"
"You want to take Yann Vasnier 'to school'?"
"You're through with your minimalist phase?"
    "Umm, sure...

Top notes: bergamot, aldehydes, pepper, peony, ivy, red currants
Middle: peach, peony, bulgarian rose, orris root, gardenia
Bottom: santal, heliotrope, white musk, moss, guaiac, tonka bean

And you could call it Gabriele. Thanks."
