Original Santal is my sillage monster. L'Instant Pour Homme is pretty good, too. Vintage Tabarôme does nicely - just about perfect level. Pure Coffee is nice.
Meaning, out of everything you've tried/owned/own/wear/whatever.. Which one, or which few do you notice to leave a scent trail. Not necessarily a projection beast, but something that has fantastic sillage, to the point where it rises off of your skin into the air, and stays in that path for a while. Sometimes it's hard to figure this one out on your own because of olfactory fatigue, when you've got those notes in your nasal passages it may be hard to figure out what rooms or areas the fragrance may be in.. so it's good if you get comments about it. Stuff along the lines of "Were you just in the kitchen, cause I can smell your Grey Vetiver?" Ya know? LOL
So which of these do this for you? A bit of a difficult question really if you don't know for sure, I can say that I do notice this to be the case with Terre d'Hermes. So +1 to TdH.

Black Aoud. Nice trail of rose and musk, people comment (nicely). Terre d'Hermes is also good, so a +1 there.

Clive Christian 'C' has perfect sillage.
I pulled mine out of the fridge to test something - and it worked. I dabbed it on as liquid in ONE spot instead of spraying. I'm still getting excellent sillage, but more fruitiness, sweetness and overall complexity. Short version - wear it like an EDP or parfum. In fact, that's exactly how i wear Guerlain Homme EDP Intense, and it comes across very similarly in terms of retaining complexity and keeping sillage under control. And it just goes to prove one more instance where application makes all the difference in an enjoyable experience.
Ahhhhhhh. The old OS is back.![]()

Silver Mountain Water (Creed) left at least a 7 meter/20 ft. trail (possibly double!) as remarked by a co-worker one morning as I walked through an outdoor parking lot. I applied it, sparingly, about 20 minutes earlier. Not bad sillage for that anecdotal story.
Sillage, I would reckon, is affected by not only the fragrance, but usually inconsistent factors like barometric pressure, humidity, skin temperature, etc.
Bogart PH. Can't get it off my skin with sandpaper!
Primarily fragrances that have leather, wood, spice, gourmand, or tobacco notes.

Caron's L'Anarchiste and Eav Des bavx are sillage masterpieces.
The sillage they leave is of their entire composition, not a particular section of them. GIT equally as sophisticated and compelling, but not as strong as the other two.
Scents that leave good sillage that don't smell as compelling or sophisticated, but still leave nice sillage from my drobe are Tobacco Vanille, Bogart Pour Homme, Pure Coffee, Pure malt, Fierce.
Platinum Egoiste and SMW leave fairly strong, sharp/cool and sophisticated sillage.
^ Yes - GIT has some of the best sillage out there. Platinum Egoiste nice too.

Knize Ten- lasting power, warmth, exquisite ingredients, persistent yet discreet path, surprising and complex evolution
Angel for women opens the door in front of its owner.
L' Artisan's Patchouli Patch and Tauer's L' air du desert Maroccain. Aramis and Armani Code also are pretty good with sillage.
Sonoma Scent Studio's Tabac Aurea leaves a trail that is divine, as opposed to having huge sillage.
Auguste's Esprit de Cuir is another that trails.
I notice everybody mentions sillage as a positive which, within reason, it surely can be. Sillage in excess can be a serious negative, imho, and my main concern is not to overdo it, as opposed to going completely unnoticed which, while not really desired, I rather can live with.
Creed Green Irish Tweed. Platinum Egoiste is killer as well...go easy with it.
Bois du Portugal is the sillage winner for me. Go slowly with it, or it'll knock out anyone around you.

Guerlain Homme Intense (EdP) is awesome in leaving a scent trail
I agree with many of the posts above. I will add one that hasn't been mentioned: Black Orchid by Tom Ford.
Animale Animale for Men can through some sillage. I've sprayed some on one forearm and within minutes I was drowning in chocolate. So much so that I decided against buying the fragrance...It was just too much sillage at the time.![]()
While I do like it if other people get the occasional whiff of my cologne when they are within a foot or two away from me, I actually prefer not to leave a trail of scent behind me like Pepe le Pew.I do enjoy catching that lovely sillage from a woman as much as any other man but somehow find it somewhat unbecoming of a gentleman to flaunt his scent to that same extent. It's just too dandified, imo. But to each his own, huh?
So off the top of my head, my best sillage nominations go to:
Rush by Gucci (women)
Organza by Givenchy
Dior Homme by Dior
24, Faubourg by Hermes
31 rue Cambon by Hermes
Tabac Aurea by Sonoma Scent Studio
