Default Best use of an apple note in a fragrance

Have you tried any fragrances that used an apple note? Did you like the fragrance?

I'd say Burberry for Man is one of the best frags with an apple note.

Brandy is very good. Sort of like apple pie, not just a synthetic apple accord.

I've always liked the apple/cinnamon combo in Carlos Santana for Men.

I can't really distinguish any apple notes in anything other than Gathering Apples by CB I Hate Perfume, which I love. Very fresh, very clean but also quite synthetic.

Then you might like the apple liqueur note in the new Antonio Banderas fragrance: The Secret. Definitely created in the same vein as the Santana fragrance. Distant cousins, not brothers.

(the notes include mint, grapefruit, cinnamon, pepper, apple liqueur accord, tonka bean, woods, musk and leather.)

I've been looking for a scent that features a great apple note. I don't know what I want it paired up with, except apple/cinnamon ro apple pie, I guess, as they are both too common and a bit trite, imo. I had Santana and felt it to be a "nice" but ultimately thin and not very compelling scent. I got more lavender/tonka/cinnamon than apple, too.

How noticeable is the apple note in Wazamba? I really like the idea of apple amidst fir and incense, if it's a crisper, fresh, realistic apple note rather than a candied or gourmand interpretation.

I forgot about that one. It is wonderful...smells like you're standing underneath an apple tree. Amazing how Brosius' does it.

I'd say Wazamba (Parfum d'Empire). I think this is a great fragrance (the whole line is worth checking out), but I seriously dislike the apple note

    Haven't smelled Amouage Cirrus yet.

    1. Cereus #4 (granny smith peels)
    2. Caron L'Anarchiste (cinnamon applesauce)
    3. Pal Zileri by Pal Zileri (picking Gala/Empires and smelling the torn leaves + flowers)
    4. Creed Aventus (sort of a watered down Cereus #4 + Pineapple/patch/moss/white musk)
    5. Tommy (apple/cranberry here was killer when it was new)
    6. Hugo (synthetic green apple candy, under sueded "woody" notes, good for designer)

Then you will absolutely LOVE Cereus #4. It's the masculine equivalent.

Have you smelled Pal Zileri ? If so, how would you compare them?

Creeds Spring Flower features a top notch succulent apple note amidst a blast of fruits in the top notes. You need to try a fresh bottle to get the effect.

Carlon Santana for men features a decent one.

DKNY Red Delicious Men has a very good apple liquer note.

CB I hate Perfumes Gathering Apples has a realistic solo apple note.

    I haven't tried Wazamba.

I definitely need to get a sample of Cereus #4. That one has been on my radar for quite some time. It's reassuring to see it get some praise here.

I find the apple note in Wazamba very noticeable, and I agree with Larimar's dislike of that note in the fragrance. However, since you like the idea of apple and incense together, I'd suggest you check out both Wazamba and LV Incensi, although of the two, I'd choose Incensi any day, as it's apple note is more integrated and less bright than the apple in Wazamba.

For me it is linear. Although I haven't worn it for longer than around 6 hours. Can't imagine it to evolve too much.

    Pulp by Byredo.

Dominated by an interesting red apple note that is strangely enjoyable.

Surprised to see no mention of Nicole Miller. I wore this yesterday to sleep, the apple note doesn't last so long, but it's quite nice. Fresh and not so synthetic, but when combined with those boozy and leather notes it gives it a rustic feel. Red Delicious has a prominent apple note, but to me it's quite synthetic, it is somewhat enjoyable in smell though, just not something I can wear. Perry Ellis has a fantastic green apple note in the opening, you can definitley distinguish the difference between the green apple and red apple notes. Then there are a world of fragrances that emphasize more on the combination of apple and cinnamon which I won't get into; as for apple alone, those above come to mind.

I might lump Michael Kors in with Carlos Santana and Nicole Miller among the sweeter, spiced apples.

On the summer side, Adidas Moves and Givenchy Greenergy strike me as somewhat appley, and maybe Eternity a little as well, but I don't really like Eternity.

Red apples make me sick to my stomach. Can't stand to smell them. I love green apples. I had Nicole Miller but the apple turned me off quickly
