Hard for me to imagine "dirty" lavender. Bois du Portugal is dark and rich.
    Spray it, don’t say it…

Any of the big three classics are all filthy: Jicky, Mouchoir de Monsieur, and Caron's Pour Un Homme. Back in the day, everyone seemed to love lavender mixed with either poop or pee...

Jicky is your baby, I'm thinkin', but if you can find Guerlain's Lavande Velours it has Jicky's lavender with other darkness to it too. For animalic though, Jicky is truly your baby.

I think you'd like the older bottles of YSL PH.

For a "cheapo," there's 273 for men, though it's not "dirty" in a traditional civet/castoreum/jasmine/urinal kind of way. It's more of a smokey, phlegm-like "dirty."

Oh, you know what? i just had the answer pop into my head!

The dirtiest , most animalic lavenders of all time are:

    Xerjoff: Shooting Stars Dhofar

    And

    Xerjoff: Casamorati Fiero

Another one, which is quite dark, but not necessarily dirty is:

    Penhaligon's: Douro

Guerlain Mouchoir de Monsieur is not particularly dark, but it is animalic, if that's what you mean by "dirty." It's definitely worth a try...

    D'oh! I can't believe I forgot about Jicky & Mouchoir (although I wouldn't call them "dark").

I don't know that you'll find a dirty, animalic lavender soliflore. But there are scads of 80's frags with a prominent lavender note and other stuff that's dirty and animalic. Salvador Dali Pour Homme would be one example but I bet other people cd come up with a couple dozen.

    Really???
I have both YSL's (Concentree) and don't get a lot (any) dark, dirty lavender?
    I'll have to revisit them.

Surprised no ones mentioned D & G By. Good luck finding it though! I'm savoring the last few mls of my decant.

Well, I'm not sure this is what you're looking for, and it's not to everyone's taste, but Fougere Bengale is dark, dirty, animalic, and has detectable lavender. It also has a boatload of immortalle and curry spices, which either ruin it or make it more unique and interesting, depending upon your POV. (I'm in the latter camp.)

Ungaro II, definitely, although it's more dirty than dark.

For dark + sweet (but not dirty) you could check out Play Intense. I'm not the only one to note a strong lavender absolute like note in the drydown - Octavian Coifan of 1000 Fragrances mentions this, too (and also had it on his best of 2008 list )
