Default Fragrances of Etat Libre d'Orange

Has anybody tried these very interesting sounding fragrances? I have not, but many sound wonderful and bizarre. Let me know your thoughts and opinions. Thanks.

Of those I've tried, Jasmin et Cigarette is my favorite by far.

I own Eloge d'un Traitre, which is a slightly greener version of Caron's Yatagan.
I appreciate Antihero, which is a powerful and dry lavender.
    Haven't tried any others yet.

I've been tempted by a few but haven't bought any yet. The ones that I liked most were Rien, Tom of Finland, Fat Electrician and the new Tilda Swinton one.

Big fan of this house. Like This is fantastic. Rien, Noel al Balcon, Fat Electrician are also on heavy rotation in my wardrobe.

Only tried Jasmin et Cigarette and found that note combination to be quite unpleasant, though I like tobacco frags in general.

I have a bottle of Tom of Finland, and I'm impressed. The scent is long lasting and seductive. Etat Libre d'Orange is the perfume house I'd follow from now on.

Any other opinions on this fragrance line? I am going to order some samples. What are your favorites?

Nice to see the house is gaining in popularity, I admire Rien..it is unbelievably good. Putain is a much complimented fragrance of mine. After that I'd recommend sampling Vraie Blond, Eloge du Traite, Chargone, and viergo et something something

Just try them all, some are very interesting and most are still wearable
But once you get locked into a serious perfume collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.

I really enjoy Like This, Fat Electrician, and Tom of Finland.

The first two are full-bottle-worthy, but I need to evaluate the latter further.

Tom of Finland if you like leather. I myself find this one quite sexy. It smells not-so-gay.

Fat Electrician if you like an interesting and modern vetiver scent. It's yummy, creamy.

Divin' Enfant if you like a strange scent. Sometimes it is like buble gum, othertimes it is milk, then tobacco, then rose...

Jasmin et Cigarette if you like a special and diffirent tobacco scent.

And Secretions Magnifiques. If it is your "type", it will smell so great.

    Great House!
I love Vierges et Torreros. Imagine, if you dare, Tom of Finland making Muscs Koublai Khan eat the pillow.

I like this house too. I have Rien for the strong incense and Noel au Balcon for a gourmand that I can wear. Charogne is also interesting.

Interesting, I have a sample of this that I must try.

What I really like about ELd'O is that they are clearly enjoying the last laugh. Yes, the fragrances are well-orchestrated and reasonably-priced for a niche house but the simple truth is that their scents make me smile when I smell them.

OK, Secretions Magnifique made me recoil in disgust, but the packaging had me in stitches so...call it even?

Also, now that I think about it, I feel it is with some difficulty that I would resist the urge to jump any woman wearing Jasmin et Cigarette.

I ordered a bunch from Lucky Scent and they threw in a whole bunch for me as well. In general, I found that they either pushed the envelope too much or too little. Of the line, I like Fat Electrician and Putain de Palais but only Vraie Blonde really stood out as the most unique and wearable to me. The other fragrances are either not that unique (Like This) or unwearable (Jasmin et Cigarettes).

JEC is wearable for sure. I gave it as a pick-some-frag-for-free-present some time ago, and from that on rotation stopped 'til now. She gets honest compliments regarding her new fragrance. Alas, I'm a bit disapointed that the from afar scent is a bit weak, and I can't get her to apply it full force. It is such delicious that sometimes I use it myself when I leave ...

The smile issue is the key. Don't try to be complicated or overlaborate! As with comic books sheer simplicity and contrast is capable for at least some amusement. The lower price tag compared to elitist "niche"-houses (what btw does a real niche smell alike - good?!) helps to just enjoy. All ELDOs I know are full bodied perfumes of artisanal quality. From those I know I like the most Nombril Immense and Encense Et Bubblegum.

Maybe the ELDOs are barely wearable as all day fragrance in company of people You barely enjoy.

Three cheers for the under-appreciated muffin bottoms!
