    Default Gendarme G - Opinions?

I was wondering what people here think of Gendarme G.
I found it online on Amazon for really cheap and i am very tempted to buy.

what is it like, or what is it similar to?

    This label?

I love the stuff. Very light, refreshing. Like the feeling of just stepping out of the shower or putting on freshly laundered clothes. You almost can't apply enough. I wear it a lot. Your nose gets fatigued to it, but others can smell it on you. My doctor complimented me on the fragrance, I had no idea anyone else could smell it.

    Or is it this one?

This one is more like freshly cut grass. Still nice, but it is very green.

Good price. It lasts long, but your nose quickly gets used to it. Others can smell it on you. As I mentioned above, my doctor could smell it while I had no idea anyone else could.

How would you describe it as a clean scent?
    soapy like prada amber
or more woodsy like the john varvatos artisan?

I know what you mean with the Prada. It's too much like heavy air if that makes sense. I love Mugler's top notes but don't care much for the drydown.

You ought to be able to test out Gendarme at Barney's in the city.

I have to step in here because Gendarme has always been one of my favorite fragrances. The new Gendarme G aka EDP has amazing staying power. AS adonis stated above, your nose quickly gets use to it but others will definitely smell it. I get anywhere from 6-12 hours longevity. Even the original which is weaker has great staying power. All Gendarme scents are funny like that, just when you think it's gone people say you smell amazing and fresh. It's happened to me many times over the years.

Indeed. And Carierre is supposed to be an even higher percentage EDP of Gendarme than G. Expensive though and rarely discounted much.

So.... at this point I'm very, very confused with the Gendarme line. I recently sampled Gendarme Classic and I actually love it. However, I would much prefer it to be stronger and so I thought Gendarme EDP might be perfect for me.

Is Gendarme EDP = Gendarme G = Gendarme 20 minus a bit of lavender?

And is Carriere even stronger but almost similar smelling then all those above?

What should I go for if I want the original just with better projection and longevity? Please advice...
