Boucheron Jaipur edt for me today, it's too steamy to wear Paris.

Good news on the roof! The original roofer (from 10 years ago) is honoring my 40 year shingle warranty and repairing my roof at no charge. We still have to track down a minor leak but he has a guy who will walk the attic space with me to get to the bottom of the problem.

    Yipee!

AND....my husband is coming home for a visit later this month.
We're celebrating with our neighbors, who jokingly threatened to file a missing persons report on him, by having a BBQ. Want to help me with the menu?

Hey, do you all remember that cute black and white ex-clam-a' tion (sp??) bottle? I loved that in high school!
That was my first perfume, passed down from big sis when I was in 5th grade, haha! I loved it though.

    I'm N*SYNC with 100% Love today.
Notes: "the pulpy erotic part of a secret red fruit, the rich, deep and velvety skin of a dark natural rose by L.M.R., a ray of green sap from the rose's thorn, a mystical 'concoction' of incense and black cacao." From S-Perfumes site (notes listen on BN are very different)

It's one of my favorite and definitely not as heavy as the notes sound or as Sophia Grojsman's other creations. I 100% love it! Haha

Also I must buy some Sun, Moon, Stars. I tried it once and couldn't get it out of my head for days. Of course, that was before I dove into perfumista territory.

Checking my wardrobe I see I used to own four from Sophia Grojsman, plus I had a mini of Beautiful I didn't list - but they are looong gone!
So today I'm in SL Daim Blond.

Wanted to synchronize with my Basenote compadres, however what few SG fragrances I have (Tresor, Bulgari Pour Femme and Vanderbilt) just didn't feel right for today. So, I wore 31, rue Cambon (which feels VERY right) and have decided to go to a Prescriptives counter after work and test Calyx, since I've never worn it. I'm excited!

I couldn't find the Jaipur, so I spritzed ONE, just one, spray of Paris down around my ankle. It may still be too much for me. (Paris gives me a headache sometimes.)

Unable to synchronise, so am in another Gorilla sample - The Smell Of Freedom. It's been confusing me all day. I'm getting oudy fabric conditioner (which, given the trickle down from perfumery, is probably due for launch in about 5 years time). Either that, or my fabric conditioner doesn't believe in freedom and is eating the perfume. It's a lot nicer than that makes it sound though, with lovely puffs of iris and oud off the skin before finishing with a soft ever-so-slightly spicy sandalwood skin scent.

Thank you! But which did you choose for your scent, ubu?

I smiled reading the posts about ex-cla-ma-tion being a high school fave for some. My mom was always a heavy scent fan (Halston, Mykonos (?). But shortly before she died in June 2008 at age 85, ex-cla-ma-tion was the only bottle of scent in her cabinet, and she gave it me. I just got it out and tried it (for the first time). It is very pretty.

I didn't synchronise! I only have one by Sofia Grojsman - YSL's Paris, but I really didn't feel like wearing it. So I went with Joy by Jean Patou instead. I mean, if you're going to blow off synchronised Friday you should at least blow it off for a classic, right?

    Man, I feel guilty!

You all smell wonderful, by the way.

    Thank Goodness Friday is Fragrant!

Happy about your honorable roofer, RHM. At this time of year, I'd insist on some tomatillo salsa and chips if I were at that homecoming BBQ.

Like others here, I couldn't bring myself to apply the Grojsmans I have on hand, especially Calyx, which really stinks to my nose.

A package from Chaya has me applying PdN Le Temps d'Une Fete, which smelled like wet lilacs for about 45 seconds. Now I smell nothing but faint bitter greens. That's my sour skin for you. I am pickle juice.

I have loved this fragrance since it first came out. But I only just recently acquired a bottle - and I am glad I did.

Ahh...thank you, my dear! Much nicer than what I was thinking.

I'm wearing Terracotta Voile D'Ete this evening. I meant to dig out my sample of Sun Moon Stars, but I forgot (again!). I have to tell you, I just made the most amazing smelling peach streudel with some peaches I needed to use up. I wish you could smell that. Sophia Grosjman would love it, I know. I'm dedicating it to her. Have a good evening, all.

Hello all! Last night, in an attempt to be the first in line for Sophia G Friday, I wore Paris to bed...it was lovely...

I do have samples of Nude and Jaipur, but they are not good matches for me, unfortunately...so for the day, I decided to go with a neglected bottle

    Alfred Sung Pure

One of those pretty ones that I wonder - gee, why don't I wear it more often? I wore it every day for a little while, maybe 10-12 years ago..and then just repurchased a BIG bottle maybe a year or two ago.

From Fragrantica "The top notes combine orchid bloom, tangerine and lightwoods. The heart blooms with lily and peony, nicely warmed by amber, while the sensual base seduces with musk and sandalwood, with a touch of cinamon [sic]." I love the orchid in the top (and it lasted for quite a while, too!). There was a certain type of orchid, I think, that is supposed to be here - something called to-yo ran, maybe?

Have a few drops left of Sotto Voce that I took some of to wear today.
Did I take too little, has it gone too old? Sadly I hardly sensed it at my hectic day at work.
Its an old favourite, so I got a whiff of nostalgia before it faded back into the past.
So much for my debute at the Synchronized Fridays.

No Grosjman for me today, either. I'm wearing Jo Malone Red Roses, and I think I'll go add it to the thread for "Rose Scents with Good Longevity" if it hasn't already been added. It's 4:00 p.m. and I can still smell it after 8+ hours...

RHM, I'm so happy for you! Hope it's a nice long visit. As for BBQ, here's the world's easiest marinade: the juice of 4 or 5 limes, a couple splashes of good olive oil, and a packet of seasoning for fajitas. Whisk it all together in a bowl, then pour over your choice of meat. Marinate the meat in the fridge for about an hour and a half. When you're ready to grill, remove meat from marinade (discard the marinade.) I've made boneless chicken breasts this way and they come out tender, flavorful and incredibly juicy. Grill some corn, too, and serve a nice green salad as well, and there you go. Easy-peasy.

I am out of sync as I haven't a single Grojsman frag in my wardrobe. I've been wearing Houbigant Ambergris today, so beautifully organic and clean smelling.

    Best to all!

    Happy Friday all!

Bad news: Couldn't synchronize either! :-(
Good news: Only 2 hrs away from my first scotch of the week! (jumping up and down)

Tried a Party in Manhattan sample this morning. Lovely, but very like Mitsouko! Probably too much like it to consider buying... (haven't tried them side by side yet though.) Yes, LOOKING for a reason not to want it, at that price!

Rest of day in Heure Exquise. (-- in order to test the just-arrived, slightly-used back up edp bottle from ebay -- happy to report it smells great!)
