06130 Lentisque (2007) Jacques Chabert Oriental
•Top Notes: Lentiscus (Mastic), Ambrette seeds •Middle Notes: Jasmine, Orris, Turkish Rose Absolute •Base Notes: Musk, Haitian Vetiver Oil, Amber
This is not a strong scent with a lot of sillage, although it seems it may be for the first few minutes on your skin. If you're able to enjoy just wearing a lush and beautiful skin scent for the better part of a day, though, you'll love this. It is a floral oriental with an unusual top note of mastic (an oleoresin from the lentiscus tree) that does linger well into the heart notes of the scent. Relax with the mellowness of Lentisque when you don't feel you need to shine, but maybe just want to vibrate softly for a day.
Yr good bud,

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

This morning and afternoon: Scent of Peace by Bond No.9, decant from a fellow Basenote member. I tried this when it first came out and at the time I thought it was more on the feminine side, but now I've tried it again it's definitely unisex and quite pleasant, as long as you don't go overboard with spraying it, due to it being quite sweet.

The last drops from my decant. I want more! This stuff is perhaps the only aquatic I can tolerate, mostly because it's sandwiched between the largest (and coldest) mint note in the universe and this subtle green banana skin accord. Plus, because of it's synthetic DNA it lasts insanely long. After this morning's heavy workout at the gym, this stuff rocks. Thanks T!
Ungaro II. Really not sure about this one. I have a bottle and only wore it once--just couldn't get past the civet, but thought I should give it another try....
