Default I am looking for Civet colognes list.

I have ungaro I and II and love the civet in those scents and wanted to know if anyone has a list of many perfumes that feature strong civet in it's makeup.

    I have at the moment

    ungaro I, II
soon to get the vintage kouros

I have many perfumes but my nose is not that great in trying to sniff for this in all of them lol.

Dont care how much it cost or how cheap it is if it has strong civet fecal or urine smell I want it

Nothing wakes you up like the fresh smell of animal feces and urine!

hope I did not come off as being weird but but I think there are two different civet scents, one that is fecal and the other being urine.

kouros comes off with the urine smell while givenchy gentleman vintage has that fecal smell only for about 10 mins to my nose

well I found a list on fragrantica, but I know it is much more perfumes that have this note in it.

can fragrantica be reliable in listing the correct notes

surprised that this list on fragrantica is mostly for woman and just a handfull for men featuring civet

Fragrantica is accurate enough. The list isn't perfect but its about the best online right now for notes. They do correct incorrect entries.

    Cheers!

Yes, I would also be curious to see a list of fragrances that use civet. I love that animalic "oooh that smells so skanky that it's good" type of scent...

These have a pretty strong civet note:

    Jacques Bogart Furyo
    Romeo Gigli
Paco Rabanne La Nuit - a womens' frag, but so good!

L'Arte di Gucci is another great one, but you may find it too feminine.

In general you will have to look for older, possibly discontinued fragrances. With most of today's buyers insisting upon smelling like cleaning products rather than fine perfume, it's difficult to find many, if any, recent perfumes with a noticeable civet presence.

I find this a shame, as I feel that animal products used in perfumery add depth, richness, softness, an organic wholeness, and longevity, and tend to blend well with a person's own oils and body scent.

Ditto for Jicky (big time civet mama), the revamped Ubar by Amouage has a great civet note (sythetic but very good). MKK by Serge Lutens. Zabad by Henaidi (UAE-based). The latter is a civet-ambergis bomb.

Caron's Pour Un Homme is unlisted, but very much there.

The other big-duh skanks are probably Musc Ravageur and Shalimar.

Also, there are some really fecal ouds. Bond No 9's Harrods Oud (the limited edition Harrods for Men scent in the bottle with the crystals) is utterly filthy and shocking coming from such a mainstream house. The new-ish L'Artisan Al Aoud is also a huge poop-fest. Of course, the strongest are the actual pure oud oils, but I'll leave those to the experts...

You may not want to, my dear neighbour! Zabad is the msot tenacious and projecting fragrance I have ever experienced in my whole life. It's from the heritage of the old Bedouins (desert nomadic tribes). Horribly sweet and strange, and has like tons of ambergris and FOUL civet. I have a toleh of it and I just can't open the drawer where I kept it lest a whiff would escape and inundate my house with fiendish fumes. It also reeks of ghee (the cooking butter used in India). I scream "ya mama" everytime I take a sniff.

Check Al Hunaidi's shop here: http://www.deiracitycentre.com/dcc/E...1/Default.aspx

Click on the vendor's name to get their telephone number.

    Cheers

Vintage Givenchy Gentleman has a big fat civet note, especially in the opening.

MCM 24 hour Evening and Monsieur Carven are a few of my favorite scents that have a dominant civet note.

MCM 24 hour Evening wow I have this gem of a scent and knew there was something about it that gives off that animalic nature
thought it was just the leather and booze notes

I'd strongly suggest that if you're looking for real civet on a fragrance, then you have to find the vintage version of the recommended scents on your civet list.

If the scent was made after the late nineties , whether it was and old scent or a new one, you surely will not get real civet but the new mandatory synthetic equivalents.

Definitely Mouchoir de Monsieur. It's the strongest civet I know.
