    Default Who would wear Zino?

    Hey guys:

I broke out a mini of Zino that I had laying around and gave it a through sniffing. I can certainly understand why someone like Johnny Depp would wear this. It is quite dark, gothic, and eerie smelling. I thought of some others that might enjoy this one as well:

    Edgar Allen Poe
    Grandpa Munster
    Robert Smith (The Cure)
The dude from The Scream movies that killed everyone

Anybody else have thoughts about that?

I do wear it, pity it has been discontinued.

funny how a dark bottle with a creamy cap brings into people´s mind "gothic" "dead"... it shows you how influential bottle design is.

I don't normally wear it... in fact, I have a replacement bottle that I might trade away because I wear it less and less.

I love Zino, it's a five-star fragrance all the way in my book. I don't see it as a strictly gothic scent; I could see a rancher in Montana wearing the stuff. But I agree that it does have a certain dark, stylish edge to it. So in that vein I will add that I could see Gary Oldman as Count Dracula in Coppola's film "Bram Stoker's Dracula" smelling of it.

I think the base is more wearable than Heritage, which was supposedly based upon Zino. Zino doesn't have that sickly vanilla and instead has some tobacco. There's something about that base that can nauseate me, whether it's the wood/amber/patchouli combination or something else, but with Zino I can enjoy it when I'm in the mood.

    Exactly my thoughts.
The bottle design is very important, more important then some people think.

There will probably be people who claim they do not care about the bottle, but even then it's an unconscious thing.

LOL....love this. You see? There is no accounting for these Zinobots....they love their Zino. I don't get it, but, evidently, they do! Vive le difference!

It's a serious man's rose fragrance, but I never considered it 'goth', maybe because I never got the goth culture. I like it and I feel that it would be worn by a rather austere, mature, yet romantic man. I would think:

    1. Anthony Hopkins
    2. Kenneth Branagh
    3. Oscar Wilde

I enjoy it and find it very wearable. A woman who runs a perfume shop in my city told me that it's her favorite male fragrance of all time.

I think the real answer to the question is that many people who were wearing perfume in the 80's would wear Zino. I wear Zino and don't find it all that weird. Especially during the long summer days when I'm confined to my coffin much of the time, and I'm alone with my thoughts of death and my dark gloatings and seething revenge schemes and prayers that I will survive undead to witness the zombie apocalypse. So I don't get all the fuss, honestly.
