On Friday we will roll out the new directory search. Not much has changed on the front end but it should be a lot less strain on the server, so we can turn off the hourly shutdowns.
Here's a quick guided tour - comments and feedback are welcome.
Image 1 - The main search page
A) At the top is an A-Z menu, where you can jump to all fragrances beginning with the letter
B) Advance search is hidden on the search page. 90% of all searches are done using the house list, or 'quick search' so we've hidden the more advance stuff. You can easily get to is by clicking the advanced search tab which brings you to the page in Image D below.
Also if your search only returns one fragrance, you get sent straight to that fragrances page
C) On the main search page is a list of the most recently added scents too
d) The advance search page (below)
E) on the results page, you can sort them by various methods
F) Review info. In a few weeks we'll be adding review info, so you'll be able to see the rating for each fragrance (pos, neutral and neg reviews) without clicking through

The new improvements look great Grant! Thank you !
I just used it and I really like it! It seemed much easier and faster to get to my searched-for fragrance ...
Thank you for the improvements! I am still looking at all the new cool features the site has since i've been away for so long and whenever i logged in it was for a short time...
Thanks Grant!
I haven't ever been able to get the advanced fragrance search to work. Was trying masculine fragrances before 1970 still in production, and it came back with 0 results...

Should work now, though can't believe it's only 118 (though it does ignore stuff that doesnt have a date assoc. with it, so its probably a bit more than that!)
