    Default Dominant Almond/Marzipan fragrance?

Looking for fragrances with dominant Almond/Marzipan notes because I simply love it. I don't mind a little Turkish Rose or Rose notes in there too. Anything?

Preferably something designer, but I do not mind niche recommendations, as long as they are relatively easier to buy online than travelling to the far ends of the earth to the remote mountain wilderness to purchase some sacred juice produced by a monk from France.

I get marzipan/amaretto from Villoresi Vetiver, but that could just be my nose.

Caron Farnesiana. Not as good as it was but still fun and marzipan-y.

Micallef Aoud Gourmet. Aoud note plus sugar and marzipan. Not buttery or overly foody though - a dry and raspy almond scent with aoud. Sounds weird, to the point of being queasy. But not so, as I found out. Hard to describe - do order samples first.

Guerlain's Cologne du 68 has a distinct "patisserie" note to it. It's probably not as deep or strong as you might want, though.

You may take the advice of all these super BNers who really seem to know what they are talking about, or you can find the ultimate almond/marzipan scent. I will send you a map, but you have to PM me about it. All I'll tell you here in the public forum is that the Incas and Mayans knew how to extrude the essence out of the almond like no one else in history. PM me!

I was just going to mention this one - it does have a maripan down dry. I would also suggest Pi which has that almond vanilla note.

Dior - Escale a Portofino is another one worth trying. I'm not sure the almond note is dominant, but it's a beautiful team player.

I don't think it's dominant at all. I hardly notice it among all the citrus.

I notice it more now than I did the first few times I wore it. It's more prominent in the heart of the fragrance, once the citrus notes have faded. But I agree with you, the almond is never really dominant.

Les Nereides: Imperial Opoponax. This is considered a very high quality creation by some of the expeienced Basenotes noses.
Keiko Mecherei: Loukhoum (has 3 versions) Lutens has something similar too (title?)
POTL: Luctor et Emergo (I find this one the most unisex and own it; also the most expensive in this list).
The first two are reasonably priced for niche.

Lately I've been enjoying Cella shaving soap A LOT - can't get enough of the stuff. It's all about marzipan; while it's sweet, it's bearable. I would love to find a fragrance to match this shaving product. I'm afraid none of the suggestions really come close to this smell I am looking for. Any new ideas people? Antico Caruso with a twist to the direction of marzipan might be ideal. I am afraid no such fragrance exist. I guess I should contact Mr. Villoresi and suggest he'd make an Italian barbershop fragrance.

Any more? I just had to buy a 500g pack of marzipan (intended to be used for baking, I take it) as some women wore a perfume that reminded me of it. There goes the sugar free diet

I love marzipan, but only to eat, not to wear. For wearing I prefer the candied-almond scent of Jour de Fête.

Here are a few more fragrances not previously mentioned that smell of almond. Both of these have a cherry-like almond, the sort I associate with marzipan--- not a heliotrope/candied, Jordan almond.

    Provence Santé Sweet Almond:

Fragonard Lavande-- starts off lavender but become that cherry-almond scent. I did not like the transition, personally, but it might appeal to some.

+1 Antico Caruso (Profumum) for a terrific straight-up almond.

Not sure that I agree with Les Nereides Opoponax for either almond or marzipan. It's a great unique scent but more of a balsamic, resin oriental vibe to me that manages to stay just this side of too sweet.

Marzipan note can be found in Cerruti 1881 Black. Very sweet fragrance, synthetic (but not heavy) and very pleasing.

True, but is a good alternative for one looking for the "marzipan kind of sweet" but not the exact note.

Lagerfeld Jako has a relatively pronounced almond accord lurking about, but I wouldn't call it an almond scent. Still, very nice. And becoming hard to find.
