I actually like it when people dig old threads up as it allows new members to get opinions from people who are no longer here and it also allows older member to see if their tastes have changed or evolved.

Mine ("Designers" based on low price AND the fact that they don't mainly or only live off fragrances. So no Guerlain even if I love them. And I don't go into discontinued ones If not vintage M7 and D&G By would be up there.)

    - Lalique Encre Noire (But most of their fragrances are awesome!!)
    - Terre d'Hermes EDT
    - Tom Ford Grey Vetiver EDP (or Men Extreme)

Those are my 3 undisputed (still available) ones. The other 2 spots would be disputed between fragrances such as: Mugler A*Men, Carolina Herrera CH for Men, Valentino Uomo, Prada Amber And Narciso Rodriguez for Him.

I was going to pick what I thought were my best 5 designers in my wardrobe, but decided that the Top 5 should really be the ones I wear the most.

I work in an office environment and only occasionally go out and put on a "hey baby" kindof scent. So these are the designer frags that I wear the most day to day

    CK Eternity
    Lanvin L'Homme
    Hermes Equipage
    Boss Baldessarini Concentree
    Dior Eau Sauvage

SO underrated!! Great choice! One of the very few fragrances with a green vibe that I can enjoy!

I like this updated list with two or three in common with mine. An older one read more exclusive: Balafre, Sagamore, and Derby.

    - Terre d'Hermes Parfum
    - Tom Ford Extreme
    - Gucci Pour Homme II
    - Gendarme
    - Curve (yes, Curve)

    Honorable mentions to:
    - Fahrenheit
    - Grey Vetiver

Is Gendarme designer? It's certainly not expensive, but I don't think Gendarme makes anything other than fragrances, so maybe many would consider it niche?

Curve gets the nod for my top 5 designers because it's so versatile and so highly complimented. Since nobody defined what "Top 5" means, it could mean anything. Sure, it means best... but best how, or best for what? Curve is probably my best dumb reach scent.
