Jicky (parfum) by Guerlain - from a sample (thanks Mimi!)

So, after about a year of thoroughly enjoying Mouchoir de Monsieur and becoming accustomed to it's civet / lavender I decided to revisit Jicky. The EdT of this is just too powdery for me to enjoy and the EdC I love, but it's so hard to source. So, I thought I'd test the parfum just for sh*ts and giggles. Many people have said that the parfum is too light...that it was hard to smell and that it had no longevity so I just assumed this was going to be the case with me.

    Wrong!

This stuff is great! Just a few tiny sprays and I can clearly smell this - it's not powdery in the least and the lavender, herbs, civet and Guerlainade are rich, thick, multi-layered - I feel like I could chew this it's so substantial.

    Love!!!

    Hey y'all -

I'm in Guerlain's tender, sweet and mellow Aqua Allegoria Flora Nymphea this evening.

30 Roses - interesting, it sounds like you might have made Agent Provocateur! I'm going to have to try layering my non-vintage bottle of poorly reformulated Coriandre with some of my rose soliflores - maybe that will help to breathe new life into the once-so-stunning sparkly green wonder!

I started today scentless (bar the Vetiver shampoo and scented body wash)... but soon went for some vintage Payot Pavlova... and "topped up" this afternoon with Turbulences... Another HOT HOT HOT day and quite busy at work.

I think my next scent note binge will be rose, as I fell off the purchase moratorium wagon with a $15 off $60 or more and free shipping deal at Walgreens, picking up Perfumers Workshop Tea Rose and Estee Lauder Knowing for less than the retail of Knowing.

(I am bad, but I hadn't bought any scent for a while, isn't that what they all say?)

Evangeline, there is a little kiosk at our mall that has 1.1 oz. of vintage Coriandre spray for $24.99...(there I go enabling again.)

Honestly, the new stuff is awful.

Oh my goodness actiasluna you're in for a gorgeous journey! It seems I could be smitten with a new rose perfume every day for the rest of my life and there would still be a thousand luscious rose fragrances to covet. Have a fabulous time!

    You just can't help yourself!

Thanks, but I do have a bottle of the vintage. I like the idea of layering the new stuff as a way to use it up, and I can't imagine that any rose fragrance I pair it with will do anything but help. I haven't worn it but once, and I'd rather find a way to enjoy it than scowl at it!

Ooh what a gorgeous Heartwood ... Heartwood illo! Happy Birthday, oh scented new momma!

And yes 30 Roses I think I am in for a nice ride! (I love rose scents anyway but haven't bought too many)

Tonight I'm doing Samsara (which is ironically named as it is so lushly material!) for the SoTE and bedtime.

Oh and not to forget congrats to Inespeenes for the successful exam!

I figured that I wanted to give equal attention to my Givenchys this week so sotd was Amarige edt .

Went shopping today andhad 2packages arrive .So as a result my right hand smells of 1981 vintage Avon White Lilac and my left has been testing unlabeled Avon and I'm pretty sure they are Charisma and Sweet Honesty.
