When it comes to price I tend to think the most expensive is the best remembering the old adage that you get what you pay for. But with fragrances this is wrong. If we were to do a blind test of samples of the most expensive and the cheaper scents we would tend to go for what we like rather than the seduction and bias of if it's expensive it is better. One of my personal favorites happens to be quite cheap.

Yes. Or one of them, I can't pick one favourite. And I have low-cost faves as well.

Well, my favorites are always in flux. But as a rule, no, my very most expensive (reckoned either by cost-of-bottle or cost per unit amount) is not my very favorite.

No.....but I will say they tend to be in the upper end of my favorites, otherwise I probably wouldn't have dropped the cash on them in the first place

Currently it is, Ambre Extreme by L'Artisan, $155. BUT, that's not necessarily the case. However, If I'm going to get a new "most expensive fragrance" I'd make certain it's at least in my top 10. Currently all of the ones I spent over $100 on are in my top 10, except for Montale Red Aoud (just not versatile enough for me) and Narciso Rodriguez for her EdP which smells nothing like the EdT and is the most buy I regret.

No. JAR Golconda Ltd... It's more for special moments (or when I yearn to small of carnations), but I enjoy it greatly!

I'd say that there are some expensive ones that are worth it for the richness of their materials but that cost has little to do with excellence of composition.

No way. I really like my most pricey ones, but they're not necessarily my favorites. I suppose Vintage Tabarome is my favorite if I had to pick one...but due to the fact I got it at a reduced cost from someone selling a partial flacon, I didn't pay anywhere near what the "last batch" was sold for through the Creed Boutique. It wasn't my most expensive frag.

Not necessarily, although the utmost expensive, extra large bottle I own contains a frag which comes close to my absolute favorites: Knize Ten

No. Most of my favorites are classics which are very reasonably priced.

Same for me, Yes and no. Xerjoff Nio, Chanel Rue Cambon, Creed Selection Verte and a few others I love, but then there's also many far cheaper between £50-£70 for 100ml that I'd also class a favourite.

No, but almost all of my top tens are from the niche category and therefor a bit on the expensive side compared to designer fragrances. At the moment Nasomatto Silver Musk is number one on my top list, it's almost as if I have found my holy grail, still it's cheaper than my most expensive fragrance (an oud).

I have favs from both ends of the spectrum and would be happy stranded with one versus the other. In fact, My most expensive ones I enjoy on occasion but my fav cheaper ones, I tend to reach for a little more. Perhaps I like them slightly better or maybe I am portraying a hoarding mentality. Who knows.
