Default Favorites for the last gasp of summer?

In inland Northern California, we still have plenty of hot days to come. However, Mother Nature is hinting that fall is waiting in the wings. Here the acorns are dropping, nights are cooler (such great sleeping weather!), and the summer birds are beginning to leave us.

I was just thinking about fragrances I crave at this wonderful early summer-to-fall transition time. Perhaps the most perfect one for me is Parfumerie Generale's Bois Blond. It smells like sweet dried grass, and I find it comforting and casually elegant. The notes list for Bois Blond includes cereals, grass, galbanum, cedar, hay, blond tobacco, amber, and musk.

What fragrances do you enjoy at this special time of year?

I find it is too hot still to wear my spicy orientals but that I'm tired of the sour green scents i typically wear in the heat. so I've been wearing florientals with a lot of aldehydes that give them lift, like Mackie and Touch.

    I wish!

I would like it to be cool enough to easily wear Tea for Two and Geir, for two.

I guess this time of the year I'm drawn to garden scents, with all the fresh produce available. Such as:
Tomato and Carrots: Un Jardin Sur Le Nil by Hermes
    Peach: 24 Faubourg by Hermes
Apple: DKNY Be Delicious by Donna Karan
Plum: Amariage by Givenchy and Poison by Christian Dior
    Watermelon: Dior Addict 2
Fig: Premier Figuier by L'Artisan Parfumeur

Also Jadore by Christian Dior that has melon, peach, plum and pear

I have been wearing very 'light', refreshing scents, like Amouage Ciel and E Coudray Givrine. I am definitely making the most of the heat. But here in Texas, we'll have summer-like weather for another month and a half...

Well, our last gasp is more of a bellow: hot, hot , hot and humid, too.

Maybe because i know that autumn will come soon, and because as much as I appreciate the crisp air and falling leaves I'm a summer girl at heart, I find myself turning to pretty, summery florals these days."Jardin Clos" by Dyptique, for example.

I also live in Northern California, delighted that today the temperatures are actually summer-like. I've been trying to pretend that we are having a normal summer with various colognes, acacia and mimosa scents. Today I'm practically delirious with delight wearing Une Fleur de Cassie. Yesterday, it was Thierry Mugler's Cologne.

Hermes Sur Le Nil seems to be hitting the spot lately. Also some light woodies like Ava Luxe #23.

You coastal folks are so lucky. Nice and cool most of the time, with those beautiful sunny days in early fall. This valley and foothill heat can be awful, but as you say it's been anything but normal this year!
