Default Top 10 Fragrance Trends of 2010

So, Bell Flavor & Fragrances launched their "Top ten fragrance trends of 2010" a while back and i wanted to get back to it to see what has been correct so far on that prediction and what hasn't (yet) been used.

so what do you make of the list?:

    1. Grapefruit Rhubarb Rose
    2. Seashore Driftwood
    3. White Amber/Patchouli
    4. Mahogany Vetiver
    5. Absinthe
    6. Mandarin/Orange Blossom
    7. Mojito
    8. Woody Iris
    9. Satin Wood
    10. Szechwan Pepper

and what would you liked to be used in the future?

This list looks pretty accurate especially when you consider that it is for flavors as well as fragrance and many of the fragrances are for non perfume products. Their projections are also considering the inside information that they have about the newest fragrance and flavor chemicals that were developed and will be pushed on to the public. From the perspective of a perfume/fragrance consumer, when I take inventory of the new fragrances that have caught my nose during 2010 the new trends for this year seem to be:

    1. Woody Iris
    2. "Sport" Freshness
    3. Deep blue ocean
    4. Coffee/Chocolate fresh scents
    5. Oud - it was still new at the beginning of the year
    6. Mint - Mojito
    7. Smoothe Light Wood
    8. Transparent silvery Musk
    9. Green spring florals
    10. Pepper, Pepper, Wood

What have I left off the list?

Szechwan Pepper? Where? I have a bag of very potent Szechwan peppercorns in my spice cabinet right now and no perfume i've smelled reminds me of this distinctive note. Pink peppercorns do seem to be quite common lately.

Am I alone to opine that ginger or nutmeg is in every other new mainstream release the past couple years?
