Diptyque L'Eau de Tarocco (2009) Olivier Pescheux Eau de Cologne
•Top Notes: Orange, Grapefruit •Middle Notes: Saffron, Cinnamon •Base Notes: Cedar, Incense
Saffron and cedar make this eau de cologne memorable, and different from others in the genre. I don't quite smell the blood orange here (that's what the name 'tarocco' means in Italian). The citrus notes that are the hallmark of the genre are fine in this one, however, and seem to complement the spice-and-wood theme very well. Incense rounds out the accord and gives it a bit of distinction and suavity. One doesn't tire of this; it makes a good steady scent to wear in fine weather.

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. I just wish I wasn't getting the strong Salvador Dali PH connection with this scent. It's either a similar musk or a similar sulfur note that they share, and although IB is quite a bit different than Dali PH, I can't shake the connection and it's preventing me from appreciating IB on its own.

Ehh, after my bad luck yesterday with TdH in the heat/atmosphere, sadly didn't work out well. I've decided to kick it totally generic today (plus I wanna use this crap up) Aqva Marine. Not so horrible, nice opening, boring paper smelling dry down that just makes me wanna keep reapplying the fragrance to mask some of the middle and base with the top notes. Very generic fragrance, and very much aquatic.

Giorgio Beverly Hills for Men. It's SO potent. Three sprays is truly dominant. Sometimes it's really nice to wear a cologne that takes no prisoners. Some of the newer offerings are just impotent and lame. I mean, why bother?
Acqua di Giò is my guilty pleasure. What's yours?

Wearing Bulgari Pour Homme from a decant today. Elegant, clean, suit and tie scent. Not sure if it's FBW yet. Tonight, depending on BPH's longevity, I'll be continuing my sampling of Taste of Heaven.
Equipage by Hermes (from a sample - thanks ubu)
I tested the vintage juice earlier this year, but this is the 'new' stuff and by golly it's really nice...in a totally different way. I think I love both!
