Exclamation Bleu de Chanel - an observation on Chanel detail

I noticed that on my bottle of Bleu that the cap has the famous Chanel interlocked C and when you place the cap on the bottle the cap will make sure to align the logo properly.

If you have a bottle try it. See its attention to little details like this that Chanel does good.

I certainly appreciate it. And the magnet strength is perfect, too. You can pick it up by the cap and it won't jiggle loose - yet just a slight twist and it pops up. Tetrapolar ring magnets. Very neat.

Just like my bottles from TDC. The new stainless steel cap setup on de Bachmakov is very sweet, too - I feel like I should be doing some kind of hardcore physical chemistry experiment with it. It has a counter-threaded base and top - the threading is very high-tech industrial grade. I like it better than the snap-down 50 mL, which is kind of cute in its cubic nature, but they can snap down a bit too tightly if you're not careful.

Hey - I'm a bottle guy. What can I say?

The mini travel flacons of By Killian also have this magnetic feature!

Arrived in Argentina, USD 110 for a 3.3 OZ bottle.

Noooooo way. Rather get something by MP&G, Lutens or any other high-end niche.

Quite true, but my goodness - that thread is rapidly becoming a monstrosity! We almost need a search function just for it! I know that the mods have taken pains to keep it merged, but I almost feel relieved at the idea of a separate bottle thread!!!

My cap does not line up exactly right every time I jiggle it, but close enough to be neat...

I do really like the bottle.. sadly, more than the scent!

Of course I won't complain too much because I just picked up (for a really, really good deal) a bottle of Skarb. Now, that too has a really cool bottle - the cap is wood and on the top of it the "HG" logo of Humiecki and Graef is wood-burned into it, and the glass bottle is wrapped with a ribbon that has "Skarb" embroidered into it with a shiny silvery/grey thread. It's all done impeccably, and it makes for a very classy, minimalist look. However, I know that this too is one where many would prefer the bottle over the scent. (although I don't know why, as the scent is earthy and yet natural, clean and yet a bit rough, and surprisingly easy to wear!)

    And mine.

The staff I was talking to the other day in Liberty's were saying how disappointed they were in it.

Yes, it's a little sad that it's just a safe scent, with nothing really remarkable about it. I really think Edition Blanche and Allure Homme Cologne Sport were definitely each better scents by a good margin.

I had to race out this morning to take my boy to a dentist appointment, straight out of bed. I had blasted myself with Bleu the night before (sorry - my wife loves the stuff), so I was still heavily reeking of the drydown. As I was reading in the dentist's lobby, one patient had left her brat sweet young boy unattended, and he was climbing on top of the back of every chair and piece of furniture in the lobby. As he topped the chair next to me, he let out "What's that smell?" I responded "Well, it's either my old cologne or the coffee." The receptionist came over, picked the boy up to deliver him to mom, and as she carried him away, said (bless her heart) "It's the coffee!" I should have suggested the dirty diaper option, but I bit my tongue.

You could use the bottle for skeet shooting, but only during the day as it is dark.
