Default Is there such a beast as Tabac Blond extract?

    And or where to buy?

Didn't get you! You're asking about TB itself or something similar? If you're seeking the Extrait of TB, of course it's there.
You can get it at any of the Caron boutiques. Expensive but worth every cent.

Yes, that was what I was asking; where to buy the extrait. Thanks.

The Perfumed Court has great decent decants of Tabac Blond extrait - 5 mls and 8 mls at very reasonable prices. 5 mls and 8 mls -That's quite a lot as Tabac Blond is strong.

Is there a strong carnation/clove note in this, does anyone know?

    Fleurine:

by chance I purchased TB extrait at the Paris store a few weeks ago, and commented here:

Unfortunately, I don't know carnation too well to comment. I don't perceive much clove, but as said, the top is quite strong, almost like a fancy whisky, so there are strong notes. Unfortunately, they disappear pretty soon, leaving neither a big floral nor a big anything.

Thanks for the link. Good insight.
One day I will drop by Caron at Phyto universe in NYC to smell it, but carnation is sort of a dealbreaker for me... I figured that it probably could never live up to it's reputation...

If at all possible, try it on skin - though they may not want to let you do so and may instead spray an edt or edc version (which would be quite different). The reason, as said, is that the top notes are quite different from the development. And presoaked mouillettes, as they have in Paris, likely preserve the top, as evaporation is very slow on paper (and I'm not even 100 percent sure that they actually soaked with the extrait, though I believe so).

PS I just noticed your signature. Indeed, the first 15 minutes of the TB I have are like that (save for the cheap part). Sadly, only the first 15. Who knows, perhaps on clothes? Next thing to try...

I bought mine in New York, at MiN - they have a few Caron urns there, including Tabac Blond in extrait.
