    Some of my favourites:
    Chanel – Cuir de Russie
    Parfumerie Generale – Cuir d'Iris
    Parfum d'Empire – Cuir Ottoman
    Knize Ten

    Out of these, Knize Ten is the most confrontational and Cuir Ottoman is the softest and easiest to wear.

    Depending on how you like your leathers:

    -- PG #3 Cuir Venenum -- candied leather;
    -- SL Cuir Mauresque -- sweet spiced leather;
    -- SL Daim Blond -- suede with apricots;
    -- Parfum d'Empire Cuir Ottoman -- boozey leather;
    -- Guerlain Cuir Beluga -- dainty light leather like for gloves;
    -- Hermes Doblis --my absofavorite, impossible to find and more impossible to pay for, softest;
    -- Lancome Cuir -- leather with flowers;
    -- Creed Cuir de Russie and Royal English Leather -- soldier's combat boots in first case stepping into birch tar and in the second case -- stepping on dusty carpets;
    -- Montale Aoud Ciur d'Arabie -- with medicinal undertones.

    Do not forget Chanel Antaeus, Caron Tabac Blond, Paloma Picasso Minotaure, Tom Ford Tuscan Leather, Paco Rabanne La Nuit and Gres Cabochard.

    Tauer has another leathery one -- Lonestar Memories -- horse saddles and sweat, and I am not a fan.

    Trumper Spanish Leather,
    Hermes Bel Ami,
    Heeley Fine Leather,
    Miller Harris Cuir d'Oranger,
    Keiko Mecheri Fleur de Peau.

    And .. drum roll... soap on the rope as an added bonus? Dana English Leather, available at your nearest Walgreen's or CVS.

    I'm no expert when it comes to leather, but I can confidently recommend Cuir Cordoba by Keiko Mecheri - super smooth, buttery and very posh. And although it's long-discontinued and hard to find, Tuxedo by Ralph Lauren is an elegant and luxurious leather that's worth seeking-out.

    I can wholeheartedly recommend the following 3 beauties:

    Hermes Kelly Caleche (EDT and parfum) - Elegant, flower petals and light leather. [The EDP is more floral and less leather]
    Chanel Cuir de Russie - Sensual, deep floral and rich, refined leather
    L'Artisan Dzing! - Playful, saddle leather, horses, hay, and magic markers (actually quite a light leather that wears very well in the summer months)

    Thanks for starting this thread Weimar27 - I'm excited to try some of the other scents listed.

    Enjoy!

    Many great leathers out there, but Heeley's Cuir Pleine Fleur has really ticked all the boxes for me. I've gone back to it time and time again compared to the others in my collection. Mouth waters just thinking about it.

    Keiko Mecheri has 2 excellent leathers, my favorite of the 2 is Cuir Cordoba. The notes are suede chord, iris butter, atlas cedarwood and hawthorn blossoms. The other one is A Fleur De Peau, with leathery notes, chinese mandarine, iris, ylang ylang and ambery notes. Also like Kelly Caleche by Hermes, Tabac Blond by Caron, Bandit by Robert Piguet and Cuir de Russie by Chanel.

    Not that I know of. I have a wonderful EDT that is fresh & still in the box. I just hope there is more out there. I got mine on Ebay. I don't know if you can still buy it from Guerlain. Maybe Mr. G. knows.

    I disagree. I chose Cuir Cordoba over Daim Blond in a wrist by wrist test, actually, and I'm very happy with my decision. I like them both and definitely see the similarities, but the leather (I'd call it suede, actually) in Cuir Cordoba is somehow understated and a bit more refined...it's just not quite as sharp or insistent as it is in Daim Blond. And the aldehydes in the top make CC plush and velvety and, to my nose, just a touch more feminine and wearable. I also get more softness in the drydown, maybe from benzoin? It's certainly sultry, but not as overtly sexy as Daim Blond. I see Daim Blond as more animalic and lusty, and I don't get that from Cuir Cordoba at all. I also don't find anything ridiculous about it.

    Anyway, I really just wanted to add Quadrille by Balenciaga to the list - a very elegant and regal leathery chypre under plummy wine. I'm not sure it's still in production, but this is another one that's worth a search.

    I'm happy for you that you find differences between the 2 and you have a nice perfume for you.
    Honestly i don't find Cuir Cordoba to be a bad fragrance at all, however considering the originality and creation i persist to think it's just a copy of Serge Lutens. And the other products of this brand confirm this (with ridiculous copied name as Datura Blanche lol). For examples: Myrrhe et Merveille has the same notes but is more accessible than La Myrrhe, Génie du Bois = Bois de Violette; Bois de Santal is a fake of Santal de Mysore, Loukhoum= Rahat loukoum etc... I prefer the original for the respect of the creativity of an artist, even if it's a nicely done copy
    Keiko Mecheri should better find their proper style... unfortunaly i don't think they are able to.

    An underrated (and discontinued, but fragrance distributors may have some bottles stocked up) classic is, in my opinion, the very affordable, yet expensive smelling Ispahan by Yves Rocher, a leathery fragrance rated as feminine, but very suitable for unisex wear, since it smells like a slightly more floral version of Knize Ten

    I feel it's about time to mention a leather no one ever seemt to mention:

    POSSETS - TESTOSTERONE
    This is truly one o the best if not the best leather i have ever smelled. Sophisticated and soothing and at the same time being very confident and masculine.
    It's a leather of several different varieties blended some very nice musk and small amount of cumin and a green accord which gives it a fresh and soothing feel.

    The image I get with this is someone successful in their 30s or 40s, having a great paying corporate job with a secretary, very confident and very attractive to the ladies.

    The other image is something of a really expensive new car would smell like.
    Like if you sat in the cream interior of a Maybach or an Aston Martin this would be the smell for me.
    This new-car-smell is definitely very sexy!

    A new one for you...Six Scents, Series 3, No.6 The one by Yann Vasnier. This is a sueded leather. It actually reminds me of my old Saab leather interior...and it is similar in tone/feel of DelRae's Panache which is also done by Vasnier. If I had $150 right now, Six Scents, No. 6 is what I would get.

    Going back to chaplain's comment, I did in fact buy M by six scents, series 3 no 6. It is a modern (ie light and synthetic) suede leather. It has really nice dirty animalic musks, sort of like rien or oud cuir d'arabie lite. Perhaps a touch too light for me, but not bad, and probably the right way to approach leathers for those who are used to modern fresh stuff.

    Of course, I still prefer my Bandit, Knize Ten, etc.
