    Default Downsizing (kind of)

I've moved into a fairly small apartment, and don't really have space to store my full collection.

As an experiment, I've decided to select a handful (around ten) of my collection to keep on hand, and to store the rest at my family's place. I'll then rotate fragrances every few weeks or so.

I'm looking forward to seeing what it's like to work with a small wardrobe, in the hope that it'll allow me to wear some scents more frequently, allowing me to get to know them better.

The one's I've selected at the moment are:

    Creed Royal English Leather
    Creed Baie de Genievre
    Creed Green Irish Tweed
    Hermes Eau d'Hermes
    Knize Ten
    Ralph Lauren Polo
    Burburry London For Men
    Versace L'Homme
    Trumper's Sandalwood Cologne

What do you think of this selection? I've also decided to put the breaks on future purchases, and, for the time being, to restrict myself to swapping. Would be interested to hear others' experiences of taking a break from buying after being used to making a purchase or two every month.

My full collection is as follows (sorry, I need to update my basenotes wardrobe), and I'd be interested to hear which ones some other members of the forum might have chosen in the same situation. Would also love to hear from other members who have limited themselves to a small wardrobe. Many thanks!

I've also decided to downsize, but on the basis that this is an expensive hobby that i cannot afford to continue! so after some soul searching and perspective taking i decided to only have 7 or 8 fragrances in my wardrobe. I much prefer a smaller wardrobe, it makes the fragrances i have more personal to me, and gives me a reason to only buy the 100ml or higher bottle sizes. My small collection makes the fragrances i have seem less of a hobby, and i can enjoy them a little more. I dont get bored of them either, i kept the scents i love and mean something to me on a personal level, rather than keeping them because it smells ok.

BTW, your collection is great! cant go wrong with London

It's a useful exercise to carry out. You will quickly learn which ones you simply cannot do without, and I would imagine your collection will shrink as a consequence. I have found that only spending what I have generated in sales is a great way to ensure that I only purchase "must haves". I have a lot of bottles to sell over the coming months. I shall be making the leap from around 150 bottles to decants and full vintage bottles only. The drop to around 25 full bottles is going to free up a lot of room.

Looking at your list, you certainly have a lot of quality to choose from there, but I would ensure you keep at least one vintage Dunhill in your rotation at all times

I'd probably have selected another Creed instead of Versace L'Homme which I find kinda dull... Maybe what you have here is the 1984 original?
