You owe it to yourself to try the Guerlain New York from their recent trio of 'travel' scents - it's nice and may do the trick. Gourmand / Oriental-ish if I recall correctly - designed to evoke just the season you are talking about.

Duc, I love those photos! Especially the guy in the Soviet uniform.

Comme des Garcons Avignon smells like the subarctic region above the treeline to me - dry, spicy, resinous, slightly smokey. Intellectually I can smell the Catholic church in it, emotionally it's all peat, tundra, summer holidays and wide open spaces for me.

Rochas Femme - old-fashioned peach underwear and hot flesh. You'll have to imagine the flesh, methinks!

Bandit - John Willie's illustrations for Bizarre Magazine.

Chanel N°5 - White ermine fur.

Armani Bois d'Encens - an ornate old wooden box with inlays, darkened with age.

They are all by the famous French photographers; 'Pierre et Gilles'.

Oh, right! I remember the ad(s) they did for Absolut Vodka way back when, and they've done work for Jean-Paul Gaultier too, haven't they? Deliciously camp.

Thematically and stylistically different, but similarly stylized; are you familiar with Jan Saudek?

I had some trouble finding one that didn't involve a lot of nudity. It's rather boring for him, but, you know, safe for work.
