Get your hands on a sample of Iceberg the Fragrance. I've been sampling it all week and boy is it good!! Starts off dry, spicy, and distinctive but then it finishes much softer and smooth. Great complexity and quality. As always, longevity will vary but acceptable on most.

Bois du Portugal came to mind immediately before reading the above responses followed by Amouage Silver Man, Creed Aventus, Amouage Jubilation XXV, and by Kilian Back to Black. For the evening's quiet cuddle-down, Maison Francis Kurkdjian's Cologne pour le Soir.

I don't know as much as a lot of the guys around here, but I know you won't go wrong with these recommendations.

For that 'privileged background' vibes, also try:

    Creed Cuir de Russie
    Creed Original Vetiver
    Domenico Caraceni Ivy League
    Xerjoff Nio
    F Malle Vetiver Extraordinaire
    DS & Durga $
    Serge Lutens Daim Blond

But ultimately it all boils down to personal tastes...

I echo Tiffany for Men, but to that I would add GFT by Trumper, Blenheim Bouquet by Penhaligon's, Trumpers Sandalwood, actually come to think of it none of my recommendations would be modern scents, so I'll stop there.
In a world where people smell bad, it is the personal responsibility of every Basenoter to improve the world one SotD at a time...

    I would say these 3

Original vetiver by Creed for the warm weather very fresh you will smell nice and sophisitcated and Bois du Portugal by Creed is a nice dark woodsy fragrance for the cooler months, L'occitane vetiver is nice too if you want a stronger vetiver. I hope this helps, they all smell very nice and very expensive.

I think it depends on the culture you work in. Most businesses are quite conservative, so normally I would wear something that is not very strong such as Mugler Cologne or one of the Prada scents for men. You need to be a little beware on this site. The suggestion that you use Tom Ford Black Orchid is way out there and not one I would suggest, unless you are working in a very avant garde arena like entertainment.

Check out Bulgari Man, which was released just this month I believe. You'll recognize it at your local brick-and-mortar by the face of Clive Owen, who is the model featured in its display. It's a warm, woody, somewhat spicy, modern and masculine scent. A little sweet, but not too much. Although tea isn't listed in the pyramid, I swear I get some - in fact I think I get more tea in this scent than the other Bulgari offerings, although here it is tempered with honey, wood and spice. I could be wrong, it could be an olfactory illusion. But that's my impression. Anyway it's perfect for the office, inoffensive and quiet but still makes an impression.

I was going to say ADP Cologna but as its been around for a while, it may not qualify as "modern". Id go with:
    Creed MI
    Creed SMW
    Ralph Lauren Purple Label
    Czech & Speake No 88
    Gendarme
    Clive Christian x & No 1
    For Dress down Friday
    Chanel Bleu
    Erolfa

Pretty much any modern vetiver would do the trick:

    Tom Ford Grey Vetiver
    Creed Original Vetiver
    CdG Vettiveru
    Givenchy Vetyver Reissue
    Chanel Sycomore
    Etc.

To me, this category (the modern vetiver) contains many quintessential business scents. Refreshing, serious, versatile, timeless, not boring.

My best tip for "Modern, Prestigous, Fragrance Advise for (30+) businessmen" is do not wear too much fragrance - go easy on the application. Whatever you wear just don't overdo it. It is very easy to numb the nose and be unable to smell the strength of your own perfume, so go easy on the trigger. No fragrance at all is better that too much fragrance for a businessperson who must communicate with other people in close proximity. Better to go softly on the spray. Most brands of fragrance will smell good and be appropriate as long as the fragrance does not force itself upon others from more than a couple of feet away. Nobody wants to be or be around "that guy".

    Okay - let's see.

You are a new poster to these boards, the words 'please', 'thanks' are not in your vocabulary and I 'may' give two options for winter and summer - why thanks so much for giving me this opportunity, FSM.

And the notes are not important - so it doesn't matter what it smells like as long it smells 'prestigious'?

That being the case why not just go buy yourself the most expensive perfume you can find?

I think Amouage Reflection oozes class and refinement. I think it would be an awesome scent for a business man of any age. Burberry Brit use to be my go to scent for job interviews. See, when I first got it, it was my most formal fragrance, so I still consider it when I'm dressing formally. Gucci Envy as well. And though I don't wear this one that often anymore, I use to find Burberry Classic (the original London) to be a fine formal fragrance as well. Same for Dolce & Gabbana ph.

All of these are great frags, but I consider them all night wear. For daily use I would suggest something all together different.
    Something like:

A Taste of Heaven by Kilian
    C&S #88
    Habit Rouge
    Uden by Xerjoff
    Invasion Barbare by Parfums MDCI
1872 for Men by Clive Christian
    Mefisto by Xerjoff
    Underworld by Soivohle
