    Default Original Cologne Recipe

I was reading a reference book by "on the john university"...can buy them at barnes and nobles...anyway in this world history version they talked about the original cologne recipe from Cologne Germany....it was Alcohol, mint oil, orange bitters, and lemon spirits...thought this was neat and would pass it along! It s awesome for me becasue colone or cologne shows up as a note in some frags and when i think of traditional cologne i think of scents like eau sauvage, which i think that combo would smell like.

    Enjoy the weekend !!

    Best,
    Nick

Also, perfumer's apprentice offers a basic cologne accord (which you can buy), for comparison purposes:

These measurements are in grams and would make 1000 grams of concentrate.
If you have a gram scale, you could divide each component by 100 to make 10 grams
To handle the trace components, you would just pre-dilute and adjust the formula.
You can also do this by drops as a learning exercise.

    Decenal-4-trans @10% - 5
    Florhydral - 10
    Thibetolide (Exaltolide) - 10
    Ultrazur - 15
    Peonile - 60
    Petitgrain essential oil - 70
    Ethylene Brassylate - 90
    Aurantiol - 100
    Geranyl Acetate - 120
    Linalyl Acetate - 220
    Dihydro Myrcenol - 300

Ultrazur gives freshness and modernizes this classic cologne accord
    Decenal-4-trans adds an orange effect
    Florhydral gives fresh green volume
Peonile provides rosy body and tenacity
