Default Does perfume transferred to atomizer smell the same?

I feel like it loses something when it hits the air.

It should smell the same unless your atomiser or the transferring instruments (syringe, funnel, etc) are contaminated and retain traces of other fragrances.

I haven't found any difference, and I decant everything to atomizers which I keep in my dresser drawer, and store the original bottles in fridge.

Why even transfer from the bottle to an atomizer?

in most cases no it doesn't smell different, unless the bottle has been used before and not cleaned proerply, or it's a cheap bottle with a smell of it's own.

Do you mean sprayed from a bottle versus sprayed from an atomizer, or dabbed from a bottle versus sprayed from an atomizer?

I'd say that dabbing versus spraying definitely makes a difference, but I've never noticed any difference in sprayed from the bottle versus sprayed from an atomizer. I suppose in theory the process of spraying into an atomizer could result in evaporation of some small percentage of the top notes, but I've never noticed that.

    1. If the full bottle is a splash but I prefer to spray it on.
    2. Portability-- to take fragrance along with me in my purse, or on a trip
    3. I keep my full bottles refrigerated. I used to store them in the fridge in our basement-- and I wasn't about to run down there every time I wanted to spray! That is why I began decanting to 5 ml atomizers to keep in my bedroom.
Now we have a small fridge in the bedroom (so we can actually use our downstairs fridge for food!), but the bottles are pretty crowded in, so I still decant to the atomizers.
    4. I sometimes decant some fragrances to atomizers to give a bit to my mother. She protests that she doesn't want perfume if I try to get her full bottles, but will accept decants. I think having a bit of scent to wear is cheering her up (she lost my Dad this year.)
