Thread: 10 Dior Exclusives this Fall |
I love the Dior house but I'd rather have them release 1 or 2 new groundbreaking top notch frags then 10 mediocre ones....not saying they are gonna be mediocre at all but, just sayin.
This is very exciting!!!

I wasn't that blown away by their exclusive line right now actually. I liked Eau Blanche and Bois D'Argent, but not enough to pay whatever they're asking for to get them. I admit that Leather Oud intrigued me, so let's just say that I'm cautiously optimistic about them...
Why does it matter if they are EDPs or not? They could be EDC for all I care, just make em' good.
Edit: Weren't the previous releases EDC? Eau Noire, Rose d'Nuit, and Bois d'Argent (to a lesser extent) lasted FOREVER.

Obsessions of the Moment- Kristiansand EDC, Green Irish Tweed, Zizan

As some basenoters suspected, dior is adding more scents to their cologne collection. The Vetiver and Leather Oud are the ones that sound more appealing to me. I just hope that they do the cologne collection in smaller sizes - 75 or 50ml would be great - and with spray. I hate having to decant my Bois d'Argent and my Cologne Blanche everytime i want to wear them...
And Octavian has already rumoured about this collection at the beginning of the year on his blog 1000fragrances. It seems that his font was a great one - since he announced that dior would launch a hypnotic poison flanker too.
Ok, perhaps something isn't made clear in the link from the scented salamander. They mention that there will be 10 fragrances comprising this collection. Three of them are already existing (Ambre Nuit, Bois d'Argent and Eau Noire), and then they go on to mention the remaining 7 releases. Why isn't Cologne Blanche included in this collection? Is it discontinued, just a mistake, or is it considered part of another collection? Either way, I will NEVER turn down the opportunity to try a new vetiver scent.
Edit: If I had continued reading, I would have noticed they mention how they are trying to verify whether or not Cologne Royale is a new fragrance or a renamed Cologne Blanche. I'd have to imagine it being the latter, otherwise I'm very confused.

Actually, I thought that they were EDCs because they were so light and seems so close to the skin. I would have possibly invested in Bois d'Argent if it was any stronger.
I'm looking forward to trying New Look, but then I'm Mr. Tuberose, so I would. I look forward to any niche-y tuberose.
The rest don't really pique my interest. Mitzah could be great but I am totally oversupplied with orientals that do those notes wonderfully, so there will need to be something else to it to grab my attention. Granville is "fresh, aromatic and sharp" and without further notes that tells me almost nothing. The cologne I'm fine forgetting about. Milly's description of a delicate musk isn't my style ( hey, enough with this white musk trend - give me some skank! ) The vetiver probably uses the coffee note I can't stand ( I'm picturing New Haarlem with vetiver instead of patch ). The ad copy for Leather Oud just screams BIRCH TAR, BIRCH TAR, BIRCH TAR so I feel safe stearing well away ( not that I mind birch tar in small doses ).
I honestly don't mind the line-by-the-batch releases, I just wish the genres were less predictable. There WILL be an amber; there WILL be a vetiver; there WILL be a gourmand; there WILL be an oud. Shake things up a little and it'll draw more attention for folks like Basenoters, at least I think so.
I have got an info about new exclusive La Collection Couturier Parfumeur Christian Dior.
Ten fragrances in Collection, with 3 masculines that we are knew before (Eau Noire, Ambre Nuit, Bois d`Argent), and three new masculines (Cologne Royale, Vetiver and Leather Oud).
Also some feminines: New Look 1947, Mitzah, Granville, Milly-La-Foret.
The notes, the names and concept are here in Russian (google-translator could help):

Sorry, guys, no time to translate the text properly. Later I`d make it, maybe.
And if you fancy Cologne Blanche by Dior Colognes - you better store up, cause it looks like it`ll be discontinued.
Vetiver The Great!!!
I'm interested in Granville which seems like what would be a "classic" men's cologne and Milly-la-Forêt, since i'm just hoping it's not another boring version of soft "purple flowers" with the regular white musk base that's so common nowadays in women's scents.
of course as i mentioned i wanna smell the leather oud and can i say that a man can never have enough Vetiver? i certainly can't!
This would explain why the original three were becoming increasingly difficult to find. Let's hope they haven't been reformulated.
Hopefully, the labels will be laminated this time and the pouch material won't shed on the spray attachment.
Mitzah, Vétiver, Granville and Leather Oud sound worthy of a sniff, if nothing more...
OK, some new info about notes of the colognes from CD:
New Look 1947 - Indian tuberose absolute, ylang-ylang from Mayotte, Tuscan Iris, Damask Rose, Jasmine Sambac, Pink Peppercorns, Black Pepper, Madagascar Vanilla, Siam Benjoin.

Also, Ambre Nuit has essence of ambergris (gray amber), that has been collected in New Zealand shores.
Vetiver The Great!!!
Ive yet to try the original 3 , have never seen them for sale anywhere .... Anyway really looking forward to these , I think they will be something quite special
I`m going to try all, but made my bets on Granville, Vetiver (even if it sounds like Jo Malone Black Vetiver Coffee), and Leather Oud. And lesser amount on Cologne Royale, as I detect some note similarities with new Eau Sauvage Concentree (that of black bottle, the cologne I like so much, but sure is more affordable).
Vetiver The Great!!!
Wow, this is really exciting news! The three new men's offerings sound like they're built around classic themes, but I'm always open to a new leather and a new vetiver. The women's sound a little more abstract, Mitzah? Sounds like a mitzvah.![]()
Geeked to try Cologne Royale.
And also somewhat interested in Granville.
Anyone know where Dior's Exclusives sold in/around Chicago ?

Interested in the three men's offerings also.
Is there any info about the date of this exclusive CD launch? November? December?
Vetiver The Great!!!
I managed to get a 125 ml bottle of Eau Noire yesterday. The SA told me the current EDT concentration would be discontinued and replaced by EDP starting today. I suspect the EDP version of Eau Noire is part of the new line of the 10 exclusives. More surprisingly the SA explained me that they were (yesterday) immediately removing all former EDT bottles from their stock (Eau Noire, Bois d'Argent and Cologne Blanche) and would not sell the remaining stock. She made it very clear that yesterday was my last opportunity to buy the EDT. I am no longer in Paris to check this but I will report back in 2 weeks.
Octavian has reviewed three so far - these are sounding very, very interesting,
Octavian's reviews are great - Mitzah and Leather Oud are now on my to-try list. I really hope he reviews them all!![]()
Can you confirm that all these will be in EDP concentration? If it wasn't for the strikes and not being aware they were already released in France, I would have investigated them a couple of days ago.
Btw, none of the labels state 'cologne', so it sounds hopeful.

Mitzah was named for Mitzah Bricard who was Dior's muse and quite the unique and "interesting" lady of her time. The scent sounds as if it will embody her wild/animal-like spirit. It is the only one that sounds interesting to me, possibly the Milly-la-Foret also.
I just do not understand why these companies cannot just create one or two "amazing" fragrances a year, or better yet every other year, instead of "collections" that are exclusive to the boutiques.
