OMG!!!
I didn't understand, are there going to be classics amoung them?!
I wish for Diorling, then ... D.I.O.R.L.I.N.G.!
Just too bad they're going to be Dior Boutique exclusives,
I cannot get a hold on Les Exclusifs, now these.
Copenhagen dosn't have a Chanel nor a Dior Boutique.![]()
I think you may have to sell your pants if you want them all !!!!!!
I came in here to say congrats to Le Grand Duc! I'll definitely be checking these out as well, Dior is a great house
10 not ONE! TEN?
Can I quote...
"So much style without substance
So much stuff without style
It's hard to recognize the real thing
It comes along once in a while
Like a rare and precious metal
Beneath a ton of rock
It takes some time and trouble
To separate from the stock
You sometimes have to listen to
A lot of useless talk
Shapes and forms against the norm
Against the run of the mill
Swimming against the stream
Life in two dimensions
Is a mass production scheme..."

Life in two dimensions is a mass production scheme...
I'm kinda surprised they hadn't come out with something called "New Look" before this.

Thank you, Neuroses!
As for you, Killer; Chanel could do it,
and get's alot of praise for their line,
why should Dior not be able to pull
the same stunt off?!
We all know, that the House of Dior
is waaay better than Chanel already!

Dior is a respected house so I'd be looking out for these too... Just hope they don't pull a D&G Anthology.
Thanks castorpollux for the link. Btw for a site with such a huge following, BN seems to be behind the curve when it comes to 'breaking news in the industry'... What gives?

Oh yeah baby? Well, let's see how high you're gonna fling your hat when the 10 frags turn out to be as vapid as Dior Higher/Higher Energy![]()
Dior IS respectable indeed but they made those horrid Higher frags LOL
I wonder if these are going to be exclusive only to Dior boutiques???
Agreeing with both, but I say FORTUNATELY. DiamondFlame is totally right - the LAST thing we want is another D&G Anthology. Those things were purely mass market fragrances - both in fragrance and in fact they are "non-exclusifs".
The fact that these Dior frags are being held back behind the boutique counter implies that they would die on the department-store counter or Aisle 1 at Sephora. "D&G" is Dolce and Gabbana's valid effort to appeal to the mass market - it was never intended for the high-end luxury market and the serious fragrance fan. It sure looks like this is.
Now I have to say - releasing ten too quickly is a BAD sign. However, it depends on the history. If this has been in the works for a while, or if these represent stuff that never made the final cut because the mass appeal was judged to be lacking, they could be excellent frags. Personally, I find the Tom Ford private collection to be a little too carbon-copy, but at a very high level of quality. And the Chanel collection is respectable. I'm willing to entertain the idea that these could be great frags..... but I'll let my nose be the final judge.

If they're not EDPs then I'll pass...
This trend of releasing new fragrances en masse is disturbing. We have groups of six, ten, twelve, and perhaps more.
I wish these companies would concentrate on releasing one really good fragrance every couple of years or so rather than releasing batches of mediocre ones all at once.
But who knows? Most of these might prove to be pretty good, but I have my doubts!

Couldn't agree more. What's next? Instant luxury fragrance company with an entire lineup? It makes me wonder how much thought went into the things. The actual pedigree of the scents tells the real story. Many of the greatest scents (like Egoiste, for a recently divulged example) have a substantial history as ideas or differently named fragrances, often in search of the right time and form to be expressed. When you hear the story from the perfumer, there is some gravitas. Some investment. But when I hear about a sudden egg-carton dozen of scents, I'm suspicious that they appeared when somebody said something like (just for instance) "give me four soft feminine musks, centered on the word 'white'!". Really? If that's the case, then is each one only worth one quarter of a quasi-classic at best? How seriously are we supposed to take the work? Look at the Hermès Jardin series. Simultaneously brilliant and flawed, they do have something which we all value here, and which we will gladly pay for. They're REAL.
UUUUUUGGGGGHHHHH.
TMF. TOO MUCH FRAGRANCE.

I hope they're not in those huge jugs like the "old" exclusives (Eau Noire et all).
But I do hope they bring Eau Noire back. I can't wear it, but I think the world of perfume is a little sadder without it...
Has everyone checked out my Top 100 Blog??
I wanted so badly to try Eau Noire. Then my stepdad who likes fragrances, but is content with $4 bottles of anything, finds my sample on the table and uses it. I found it empty in the car. I was so upset.. still am. I got to get a glimpse of it the day I got it but nothing after thatInstead of getting a fragrance for winter I had my mom get me samples from TPC, and this was one of them. Someday I hope to be able to try it again.. not sure if I will though. Hopefully I'll be able to try a couple of these if I can. There's no way in hell I'll be able to get to a boutique except if I plan a whole day to NYC.
I hope they carry them over here - there's only one Dior flagship carrying the four others (Cologne Blanche etc) and they are sort of tucked away - clearly not a high priority item.
I am a little wary of ready made 'collections' but at least with Dior there's a precedent and they are incorporating three of the four existing exclusives into this line. Look forward to finding out just how well conceived the collection turns out to be, how long it has been in the works, who got roped in to create them etc.
PS
Well the notes for the new Cologne Royale are clearly not the same as Cologne Blanche so that leaves CB flapping out in the wind - I wonder if it's going to go? I've tried it a couple of times and it resembles Histoires de Parfum 1725 a bit, which I like. Might revisit and pick one up. Cologne Royale and Granville look like pretty trad hale and hearty masculines . . .
