Default has giorgio- giorgio beverly hills been reformulated?

Hi i've been reading a lot about the giorgio for men fragrance because I always wondered about it. The notes look amazing and i plan on picking it up. I read a few places that the new version is different than the original? (after it got brought back into production)

is this true? or are both versions the same? Thanks in advance!

No change at all. Moss is synth in the new version but very accurate and sincere to the original formula.

The only difference I notice is probably from aging.

It is aggressively Eau de Dilute in my opinion. The fragrance is identical, however, it is just barely there when compared to my bottle I had in the 1980's. It was a powerful-in-your-face fragrance with brutal longevity and take 3 aspirins please. Now, it is just a distant, wafting with a gentle passing.

I may throw this bottle away for the exact opposite reason I threw my first one away: It's too weak.

    Cheers,
    Daryl J.

Everyone's skin is different but I get the same longevity from the reissued Giorgio Beverly Hills as I do from my vintage bottles.
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both and be one traveler, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could to where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, ...... I shall be telling this with a sigh somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -- I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. - Robert Frost

I woudn't worry about it. I bought a bottle recently and it's still a delight if you like those 80s monsters.

I purchased this last night. I like the scent. On first spray, I smell pine and spices. This lasts for about 2 minutes. It is a nice peppery woodsy pine fragrance. This does not last long.

I resprayed again, this time 2 sprays over the same area that I sprayed before, and I get a very light skin scent that is light pine and light sweetness on dry down. This lasts for about an hour.

I hoped to get something like Kouros from Giorgio Beverly Hills.

I have the current formulation, but don't wear it much. Not that it's bad at all... there are just some others I like better. When I have worn it, the longevity seemed pretty good to me.

It is a yellow and white striped box. Georgio Bevery Hills For Men/Pour Homme. I purchased it at TJ Maxx, 48ml for $10. UPC code 19346 53631 8 Made in USA 2HA4.

It is the weakest scent I have. The first 2 minutes are a strong blast, then it fades away.

Something must have gone awry with that bottle, as Giorgio for Men is one of the most potent fragrances on the face of the planet (even the reissue). The notes also appear to be completely off as well. Weird...

I would be happy to mail my bottle of Giorgio with the box to you for free so you can compare it to juice you have. I'd like to hear your thoughts on the new juice.

This may be the newest juice. Parfum is the 3rd ingredient, after alcohol and water. Is parfum the #3 ingredient in older bottles as well?

I agree with drseid, there is something amiss with that bottle. I own a bottle of the reformulated stuff and it is fat with florals and rife with patchouli. But, as mentioned in a previous thread, I do not find a strong resemblance to Kouros regarding GBH for Men.

Very different. The original had strong, camphorous patchouli, to the point that I have had trouble wearing it. The new one has very little patchouli and is more vanillic (rather than honey-oriented). However, it is quite strong so that's not an issue. Some have claimed that there were two reformulations, and if that's the case I think I have the newer one that is stronger (as well as a couple bottles of the original). The quality of ingredients is high with the vintage whereas the more synthetic new one can get cloying and has a slight metalic quality. I think of the new one as orange/herbal tinted mossy/ambery/vanillic scent that is a bit sweet, whereas the original is rich, multi-faceted, and dynamic. As I said, however, the camphorous quality of the patchouli seems to cause physical discomfort so I'm hoping that if I can avoid it for a while I'll be able to wear it once a month or so.

Recently I received a bottle of Giorgio of Beveley Hills for Men and I am sad to say that it is a shadow of its former self. I am writing this so that purchasers of the fragrance are forewarned before purchasing,as it is significantly altered from previous iterations of the fragrance. The first thing that is noticed is that the nuclear sillage that would almost leak out of the sprayer is severely degraded, and this is indicative of what is about to be experienced when sprayed onto the skin. Upon application the distinct intensity that would accompany the application of this fragrance is gone. Unfortunately due to agressive reformulation the nuclear sillage is gone, and it must now be considered a close skin scent. This is disappointing as I have worn the fragrance since the early 90s, and it only vaguely resembles the beautiful creation it once was. I purchased this scent from a large online retailer so this was not old stock or a knock off. When purchasing I also ordered Jaipur Pour Homme, 1881 Pour Homme, and Kouros - all these fragrances are now shdows of their former glory due to aggressive reformulation policies. It has now become advisable to smell before you order to avoid disappointment.

I have both the splash vintage and reformulated sprayer. I think the longevity and silage on the reformulated juice is pretty solid. However I find considerable difference in the quality of ingredients where the vintage's opening is much richer and smoother but the current is harsher and starts messy! I think they messed up with the oakmoss which is a major note in this beauty. You have to try it for yourself but overall I think they did pretty good job with the reformulation but I give credit to the vintage for overall quality. Giorgio for men is one hell of a fragrance, great choice

Today I have received my 3rd ever compliment so far in my life from a woman from wearing vintage splash Giorgio for men my previous compliments were Kouros and azzaro chrome.

I had bought the $15 Giorgio at a discount store 3 months ago and noticed quickly how much drier it is. The synthetics trying to maintain the character just don't hold up. The scent falls apart, turning into a urinal cake after several hours. The original was much more complex and powerful. I tried adding some of my own oakmoss to it and it seems to be somewhat better after that, but it still does not make up for the harsh synthetic mix that this new one has. Then again, the last time I'd smelled this was at age 6 when a family member let me try it on. And so, even after all its failings in the current formula, it does have a certain uniqueness and I wear it from time to time.
