Have you ever tried Branwen's Feather? It looked like a shatter polish. Seriously!

No I haven't tried Branwen's Feather. It's that almost black one with violet highlights, isn't it? Sounds like there was something wrong with it (old bottle, perhaps?) since it shouldn't be a shatter polish. Of my Butter London polishes Thames is the most thin one: it demands at least three coats, other shades work fine with two coats.

BRG is the kind of green polish I looked for for ages, I was so happy when it was launched!

Decided to give Leighton Denny No Comment another try. I poured out about 10% of the bottle and replaced it with thinner. It was still thick and difficult to work with, but with three coats I managed to make it look acceptable. The colour is heartbreakingly beautiful - so are many of his colors - but it doesn't really help when they are so crazy to work with.

My tips are in Poor Woman's French Mani (Seche Vite Brightener, white mani pencil underneath tips, clear top coat)

But I used strips on my toes for the first time this morning. I was inspired by my new peep-toe platform booties to do something crazy and used Sally Hansen Salon Effect #320 Kitty Kitty.

I'm a little skeptical about how it'll look after I take another shower but it was fun using this stuff

Ohhh I bet those kitty toes look real cute socalwoman. Hope they last!

I was at Ross last night (stress shopping) and picked up a 7 bottle set from Color Club called "Back to BOHO -For the modern Bohemian" LOL
They are darker earthy colors have been popular for several years but Inever owned any till now. So I've got a different color on each nail to test them out. Liking all very much indeed except for one and even that one could have its uses. The faves are a "greige", a lovely nudey-caramel, and a killer deep wine.

I applied a matte top coat to YSL Grey Tuxedo last week. It made it look a bit lighter and far more "interesting". In all, it's a contemporary but very strange look, I think - beautiful and yet slightly repulsive. I'll try with Chanel's Pirate in a few days and see how that works.

I think it works best with dark(ish) colours with shimmer, because they will still "catch light", creme polish would only go flat and yes, repulsive.

You might be right about this! On the Chanel ad for their autumn look, they have a picture of Pirate with a matte top coat. But pictures are so easy to manipulate. I'll try in a few days and report the result. :-)

I applied a matte top coat to Chanel Pirate yesterday. The result is far better than I had hoped it would be. It makes the color look a bit lighter and bring out the blue base. A very soft and strangely beautiful look.

After some thinning I succeded to get a decent look with Essie Carry On. It's a beautiful deep plum in the bottle, but on the nails it's one of those numerous "almost black" polishes that's been in fashion for so very, very, very long by now.
