Does it work so good that it easily could've been marked as Unisex?

I guess you could say that. I think the EDP is much better on men because it's deeper, richer and fuller and more chypre.

Edit: ...and EDP is less floral than the EDT. This is just my opinion. That's why the EDP is easier to wear by a man.

I've heard it's quite unisex as well. I haven't had the opportunity to test it but FWIW I asked Katie Puckrik at her Youtube review if she thought it was suitable for a man, and she said "Absolutely!"

Am I missing something here? Or is this some desperate gamble to get forum goers to click on the link? What has VS Bombshell got to do with Chanel No.19?

But to answer the thread, I'd say unequivocally 'YES' - Chanel No.19 works on men, just NOT every man. Btw 'queer' is an offensive, derogatory term which has no place on these boards & really I'm not privy to their fragrance wardrobe decisions.

Imo the EDP is rounder, lush & distinctively more floral than the EDT which is drier & green with more prominent elements of iris + vetiver. Don't take just our words, try it for yourself and decide then. When it comes to scent selection, our personal comfort zones are often demarcated by our own perceptions about what smells 'feminine' or 'masculine'. While I can rock No.19 with aplomb, I'll admit to having some other fragrance-related hang ups.

I own the EdP and rarely wear it because for me it's too feminine.

I think that many on these forums believe that the "femininity" of a scent is really subjective.

Two people can smell the same scent, one saying it's very "masculine" and the other saying it's "feminine."

For me (and speaking only for myself), the No. 19 EDP is unisex and more floral than the EDT, which is also unisex.

For the record, almost all of men's fragrances contain some floral essences, including jasmine, lavender, rose and iris. Who is to argue with that? In botany, the flower is actually the feminine part of the plant. Would that make most "men's scents" really feminine?

This is a tired old argument.

I find Chanel no 19 entirely suitable for unisex wear. As primrose pointed out, the EdP is more floral than the P or EdT, but it's still eminently wearable. This is a very abstract scent, and abstraction is one of the qualities that often makes for a good unisex scent.

Some fragrances smell different on different people. Siifter, the best way to do really is to test it on your skin. Chanel no 19 is a very nice scent. Once it "cooks" on your skin, that's the only way you can judge whether it can be unisex. All basenoters have different opinions. And it is very subjective, really. So, try.
