Default New MALLE! "Portrait Of A Lady"

News delivered by The Perfume Shrine:

    http://perfumeshrine.blogspot.com/20...-lady-new.html

I'm not sure whether I'm looking forward to this or not. Patchouli and rose seems to have been done a lot, even in Malle's own Une Rose, but the Malle/Ropion pairing has produced a ton of great scents, so I'm eager to try it none-the-less.

    Thoughts?

A new Malle / Ropion collaboration can only be good news.

From the sound of the article the patchouli is not touted as a major major player . . . I'm going to stay very open and expect the unexpected with this one.

Some male wimps (although they may be intrigued), because it says "...of a Lady"

Yeah, I'm a fan of Ropion and rose and Malle too (a very promising combination!) but I hope mr. reasonable is right to expect the unexpected. I've been craving a really new and unique rose and it would be great if this is the one. It sure does sound intriguing!
Science is not only compatible with spirituality, it is a profound source of spirituality. When we recognize our place in an immensity of light-years and in the passage of ages, when we grasp the intricacy, beauty, and subtlety of life, then that soaring feeling, that sense of elation and humility combined, is surely spiritual. ..Carl Sagan

Yay! I love the patchouli and rose combination, particularly if the fragrance has a nostalgic vibe. Very much looking forward to trying this one.

I can't resist a good rose fragrance, and I like a well-done patchouli, so I am intrigued. But slightly disappointed, too. It has been done so many times! Rose and cinnamon, rose and incense combinations bring Andy Tauer's perfumes to mind.

I was hoping for a magnolia fragrance from FM, but since so far I haven't found my irresistable rose-patchouli combination in a perfume (JHG Lady Vengeance didn't work for me at all; nor did L'Artisan's version), well may this would be it...

Lol! I was just searching for this thread to post the Grain de Musc review.

And yes, now I'm even more excited. The image I have in my mind is "Malle does an attar".
