I should probably be ashamed of myself in your well-scented company, but my SotA/E is Prince Matchabelli (Parfums de Coeur) Fresh White Musk body spray in the blue metal cannister. I'm not sure I like this one. It's hairspray'ish, maybe because it came from a spray can. I think I like the PdC Body Fantasies line's Fresh White musk better. It has a plastic pump spray bottle and smells better. I'm staying home this afternoon and evening to nurse my poor periodontic infection, waiting for my dentist or periodontist to call me back. I'll take whoever gets back to me first. I hope you're having a better weekend than I am!

Quick hello! DH is tending to DS today while I go get my haircut, and later I'll be making a big batch of balsamic caramelized fig sauce. There's a shop by the salon that sells L'Artisan, so while I'm not yet sure what my SotD will be, it will very likely be L'A (LCaP?).

Also, if anyone would like a canned jar of fig sauce, please feel free to send me a PM and I'll ship some out. Basically, figs from my tree cooked down to boil off much of the liquid, then I add aged balsamic vinegar and caramelized sugar (yes, I really do caramelize the sugar to a nice deep amber color), and a little dijon mustard. It's a recipe from epicurious that actually calls for dried figs (don't they all), but my fig tree is an overachiever (aren't they all? ), so I needed something to do with the hundreds that come off every year. I love this sauce on everything from chicken thighs to ice cream; and I'm told it's also fabulous on salmon and pork.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. I know my fellow BNers in San Francisco are, but there's too much to do around here and I'm so grateful to have DH home to spell me so I can get some things done. Maybe next time, with my little future colognesseur!
Eddie: Sweetie, what are you drinking?
Patsy: Oh, this? Chanel No. 5.

My Scent this morning was the BN frag project Scent B... and after a huge burst of energetic pulling of grass from the veggie garden and a shower, I treated myself to a spritz from my little decant of Guerlain Angelique Noire. Lots of sweet vanilla up front then a little citrus, so that it smelled like a dreamsicle tastes... and though I don't usually like gourmands, I do love this one! I hear it's got longevity + which is a good thing... I bet I dream of summers and dreamsicles! Happy Saturday all.

Oh, my lord! That sounds sooo good, Heartwood! I will gladly take a jar off your hands. One of my aunts in Mississippi made delicious fig preserve from her tree, but I think yours sounds even better, more like a chutney, and I was just telling my husband I need to jar some chutneys/relish/conserves (whatever we want to call them) to have on hand for grilled foods.

I've moved on fragrance-wise, thank goodness. SotE is Prada L'Eau Ambrée.

Evangeline ~ I didn't realise Gucci only released that frag in 2002! But that year seems so long ago to me,with so many changes in my life since then, that it's practically vintage

Mimi ~ U should try Tresor in Love...although I hate to admit liking any modern day scent, it was the most appealing scent I tried at the Lancome counter recently.

Yes, I must try it out , Domperrier. Tresor is an oldie but a goodie. I must also try out Tresor Elixir which is discontinued - supposed to have a different base - I am sure it is still available somewhere online.

I've been test-wearing SL Boxeuses today. oh my my! I think I'm in love! I only have a 1ml sample of this, so it's hard to tell how it's going to act when sprayed, not dabbed.

Heartwood, YUM! I've never tried fig sauce of any kind, but yours sound wonderful!

The boutique carried a limited number of L'Artisan's, but they did have Premier Figuier. That's a no-brainer! I hadn't tried this before, and I love that it isn't sweet. Soft and woody, and undoubtedly figgy, but not at all a fruity-floral. Canning will actually have to wait until tomorrow, however. After my haircut, then stopping by the bank, picking up lunch for DH and I, buying more canning jars, eating lunch, feeding Joe, watching the Gator game (sort of, mostly) and getting poo'd on by my little sapling (necessitating a load of laundry I was hoping to avoid today), I'm too wiped out to start peeling and boiling figs. But like Scarlett says, "Tomorrow is another day!" And with DS now sleeping a full six hours at night, I'm sure it'll be a good one.

    Bois et Fruits today.

The last week or so has been all about Feminite du Bois and its offspring. There's something about autumn that just makes them all sing.
